“RumX Awards 2023. Warm, heavy flavors with roasted, caramelized pineapple, overripe banana and acidity. Glue and woodiness and like a light acetone. The attack is lively but balanced, the palate less dark overall than the nose, with an astonishing background of persistent freshness. As the palate evolves, the wood becomes dominant but not disturbing. The length is prodigious, with wood, glue and a noble bitterness. At the very end, roasted pineapple and banana reappear, with a hint of pastry and old leather. A very fine rum, you feel carried away as an old galleon from another age when all ships were made of wood.”

“Wow, was für eine verrückte Nase: Käse, Nüsse, Trockenfrüchte... erinnert mich sofort an Clairin aber hat deutlich mehr! Am Gaumen erneut sehr ungewöhnlich: weich, würzig, süße Lakritz, medizinisch, ein bisschen Dreck. Das ist ein Rum vollkommen abseits der ausgetreten Pfade und der bekannten Schubladen! Die wilden Aromen werden schön umrahmt von einer dezenten Fassnote. Der mittellange Nachklang verblasst mit schönen Röstaromen und dann nehme ich auf einmal ganz entfernt Eukalyptus war! Die Käsenote hält sich bis zum Schluss 😁 Erinnert mich an den Whisky von Säntis Dreifaltigkeit, krasses Zeug! Ich vermute, dass dieser Rum die Meinungen weit auseinander gehen läßt. Mir gefällt er ausgezeichnet! Danke Oliver für das Sample!”

“Sehr fruchtig in der Nase. Kirsche und Ananas. Karamell. Sehr rauchig, Politur und alte Komode. Gut balanciert und gute Alkoholintegration. Im Mund dann sehr pelzig, scharf. Lösemittel, Holz. Hatte ich gesagt pelzig? Kurzer, funky Abgang. Ananas und Birne. Handwerklich sicher top. Die rauchige Nase find ich toll. Aber ich ahnte es schon: An einem Schaffell zu nuckeln ist nicht mein Fall. 🐑🐑🐑 80er Range fürs Handwerk und die Nase, 50er (für Angenehm in den 60er reicht es nicht für das Mundgefühl).”
