However some reviewers found it to be too flat or expensive for the quality.

Nice, classic Versailles profile with excellent balance of pencil shavings, tea, citrus, wet wood and tart spice notes of pepper, licorice and anise. Definitely brings in rough edges, resulting in an exciting complexity as none of the notes swing out negatively. The VSG 90 profile is of consistently high quality, to which this bottling also impressively testifies.

In questo rum si sente tutto il pot still in legno Versailles! Scuro, legnoso, fumoso e tante spezie a fare da contorno! Unica nota che non mi fa dare un voto più alto è che un po’ monocorda in tutta la degustazione ma se vuoi sentire cosa ti può offrire un pot still in legno questo è sicuramente un rum da assaggiare!

Ein eher runder Versailles, der auf der adstringierenden, holzigen Seite ist. Eher wenig fruchtige Noten, wenig Bleistift. Mir ist er etwas zu flach, es fehlt etwas an Komplexität.

a tedious process and dull finish. The price is out of line (seriously) and as a "VSG" it deserves to do better, especially considering it's 30 years old. Nobilis should put more effort into Versailles and show more sincerity. I won't try "MEC" at such a high price.
