This one is one of those rums that will be splitting waters for sure. I think it is heavily influenced by the barrel so the whisky is thee all the way. Still fruity though with nuts and smoke.

Ce rhum a bénéficié, pendant plus d’un an, d’une finition en fûts de Whisky Single Malt des Highlands, en provenance de Ian Mac Leod Distillers, après 6 ans d’élevage traditionnel en fûts de chêne. Nez mentholé. Une attaque franche en bouche qui laisse se développer des notes de céréales et d’agrumes. Le profil aromatique de ce Single Malt HSE est vraiment singulier, et la rencontre entre ces deux types d’alcool (rhum et whisky) est pas mal mais sans plus. J’avais préféré en finish whisky le Islay qui est plus tourbé et par conséquent donne plus de caractère au finish.
