"This one arrived this morning from France and I am already at number two of this nice rum. The nose is nice and typical Agricole with fruits and spices. A slight wood, floral, spice and sugarcane touch to it. The palate is complex and slightly dry with a lot of fruits. There is a sweet note with an earthy, floral and pepper touch to it. Smoky oak also joins in the consecutive sips. The finish is long and lightly sweet with fruits and caramel and in the back some wood. The cognac casks they were finished in is there from the nose to the finish. "

"Blend of unaged <>H, 2008 HJF and 2009 DOK. First impression: this has real muscle 💪 but at the same time very fruity: pineapple, lychee, ripe mango. In the background, some yogurt and pastry. On the palate not as extreme as expected, the 63.8% ABV is well integrated. The finish is almost a bit Long Pond-like with apple cider vinegar and gravy. I like it really well!"

"Got a box of The Nectar samples a few weeks back. Just didn't have the time to add then until today. Later today I will attend a Nobilis tasting downtown and I look forward to that. This is a pretty decent Caroni actually and the price to quality is also OK. Not a super dirty Caroni but nice."

"#18th dec RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: dried fruits, prunes, grass, flowery, honey, dark chocolate, mocha Mouth: dried fruits, tobacco, herbal, earthy, nougat, smoky, almond Finish: mid long, sweet caramel, woody, oak, smoky, toasted This is a nice old agricole for sure, with a great history. It was awesome to have the opportunity to taste this rum. The alcohol is integrated well. At the end i have to say, it’s good but not something special and even more the actual price tag. My prediction: This could be from J. Bally, again Martinique 🤪🤪 ca. 45% approx. 15 Years"

"#4039 I have tried many of the two masters and they're usually pretty good but sweet and the price tag pretty hefty. This one is no different, sweet and fruity with nicely balanced ABV and a nice floral note in the back. Draws extremely nice curtains and the empty glass is really nice and I can get some licorice and pastries. If you're lucky you can find a bottle around 1000,- euro."

"Stunning. Rich in aroma and on the palate there is a pronounced peatiness wrapped in a fruity and olive spirit. Long finish. I am being surprised by some white rums that are fruity, but with a strong character rich in nuances thanks to good fermentations. Keeping in mind the value for money this rum is definitely worth considering. I have often spent three times as much for mediocre rums.This distillery is the only one in the world that grinds with a mill that is still working with water. Hand-harvested cane and distillation fire fed with the remains of the cane. Fermentation with native yeasts. Old-fashioned rum."

"Nice rum, but a little under compared to batch1. The presence of a slight solvent note I liked less and it is less intense. However, we are talking about finesse and personal taste. We are dealing with a rum that I would drink all the time! I do not understand all these new versions of Hampden Velier that I find little different from each other and especially pòco justified in terms of value for money. Velier lately is focusing too much on collectors with the result of making the bottles unobtainable already upon release and overpriced."

"Third place within the new trio. The three rums are all well distinguishable from each other, each has a peculiarity. This one I felt somehow "off", as if there was something wrong with him or something was added to him. But you could also say, he has an unmistakable, strong character.Unfortunately, I can not say what irritated me so. I must probably taste again."

"An agricultural rum brut de fût that shows that even with a young age the complexity and the aromas can be there. The nose is very exuberant, between the vegetal notes that bring freshness, the aromas of coffee, chocolate, nuts and spices that give body and the fruity notes that round off the angles, the mixture of flavors is balanced and deep. The attack in the mouth is dry but very round, the wood and spicy notes blending perfectly with the tobacco and tropical fruit notes. The caramel and herbaceous notes are discreet but complete the aromatic profile well. The relatively long finish extends the pleasure with peppery, earthy and toasty notes. A very solid Karukera, complex, tasty and fresh."

"This was the odd one out and also a huge surprise. Considering the price tag you get a lot for your money. I found out that it needed to rest for at least 15 minutes and at 30 minutes the flavours just come at you. Intense and fruity with nice spices and cane. I really like the floral note from nose to finish and even the empty glass was wonderful after a while. Loking forward to our S.B.S and Silver Seal tasting next week."

"Good agricultural rum. Compared to its Haitian brethren this rum is less intense and therefore lends itself very well to blending. Very good to taste as well, but a bit below compared to the clairins.Delicate aromas of sugarcane and olives/vegetable."

"Blindverkostung. Riecht überhaupt nicht nach T.D.L, eher nach Belize (Kokos). Am Gaumen bärenstark, massig Kräuter, leicht schokoladig. Der Alkohol könnte durchaus besser eingebunden sein. Dies ist kein gewöhnlicher Rum, sondern einer, der dem Genießer alles abverlangt. Deshalb ist die Bewertung auch ziemlich vertrackt. Wegen dieses umhauenden Geschmacks gebe ich ihm trotzdem 88 Punkte (die sich bei einer weiteren Verkostung aber auch schnell wieder ändern könnten, so schwierig ist der Rum 🤷♂️)."

"Loving long ponds, I decided to purchase a white. I expected more marzipan, which I love in its aged counterpart, however it is a remarkable white. Complex, strong in the solvent part, but never overdone. Olive and esters on the nose. In the mouth solvents and a fleeting roasted/smoky note. On the finish pineapple and lychee, medium-long duration.Whites for me must have a different evaluation than amber."

"Nose is reminiscent of other young PMs with wood and some continental fruits. Starts off with intense burnt notes. Some herbs with anis. A hint of chocolate appears over time. On the palate I get some acidity which I attribute to the high proof. However, the taste is surprisingly sweet with toffee and raisins which show up unexpectedly. Don’t take this wrong, this is very powerful and demanding stuff, far off from crowd pleasing sweetness of course. While this is the first AW I had in the glas I’m somewhat intrigued by the profile. Happy to explore some more bottlings. On the first go, SBS and the Nectar feel pretty similar. The latter maybe a little less sweet with more chocolate rather than toffee. Alcohol noticeable in both bottlings"

"This is a wonderful rum in my mind. The pricing puts this one in a good spot. The ABV has been very well integrated and there is a good balance with the dryness. Lightly fruity with vanilla and smoky wood. What I noticed while it rested was that the nose came at me though sitting on my couch while the tumbler was on the table. Very fresh rum."

"Heute mal ein entspannter Easy Sipper. Ausgewogenes Verhältnis zwischen floralen Agricole-Noten und dem Oloroso-Sherry-Finish. Das Finish hat dem Agricole also gut getan. Nicht süß, eher leicht modrig-säuerlich-rauchig. Hört sich jetzt schlimmer an, als er schmeckt. 😉 Er ist kein Burner, aber auch kein Ausfall, einfach ideal für einen Werktagabend, man muss nicht groß über ihn sinnieren. Mir gefällt er! Nice pick eines bisher unbeachteten Rhums."

"Had a nice tasting this past weekend with a lot of SBS. First off, price to quality is pretty good on this one. I would have loved a higher ABV because it would have given more to the flavours. "A Venezuelan rum quite easy to access but with a little more character. The nose is quite dry, with some fruity notes, wood, spices, hazelnut and chocolate accompanying the caramelized sweetness.The attack in the mouth is smooth, with a syrupy texture. The sweetness of the spices and caramel mingle with subtle wood and light fruity flavors. The whole is not surprising, but it remains balanced. The 52% is well integrated. The medium-long finish is dry, a bit spicy, with light roasted, woody, chocolate and vanilla notes. We also perceive burnt sugar and dried fruits. Not bad for a Hispanic rum, the higher alcohol content helps to raise the level of the juice, most of which is often too diluted."

"Finally some time to reflect on our tasting with romhatten.dk on Friday. Brought out the sample bottles to see if I could pick up some hidden notes 😊 Sad that they watered this one down because I think at CS it would have been a much better rum. There is a light floral note that I really like. A light yet well rounded profile and I think this could be an entry rum for beginners os Jamaica rums."
