"I’m not a big fan of the Spanish styled Ron, but I like the Rare Proof series from Malecon. I believe it depends on the rich taste and that the sweetness is very good balanced with the quite high ABV. This one isn’t the best of them, but certainly a very good one anyway."

"Retasting and leaving the original note 😊 This is a pretty reasonable rum that could do well for deserts in my mind. The nose starts out with sweet caramel and fruits followed with vanilla and light wood. Tha palate is lightly dry with fruit, caramel and spices. The lightly dry palate also serves up ginger nuts and tobacco with some oak. The finish is medium long with oak and raisin followed by licorice and some tobacco. Price to quality is kind of OK thinking that this is an anniversary release."

"This is one of the better Malteco rums. A wonderful oak and spice nose going into a nice palate with spices and tropical fruits. Medium to long finish with oak and spices. A bit expensive even if it's in a nice box. "

"Leckeres Teil, hätte ich nicht erwartet. Ein schöner Vanille- und Honigduft in der Nase, geht dann im Gaumen so weiter. Hat eine leichte Süsse, welche vollkommen ok ist und schmeckt auch etwas rauchig. Lecker."

"Eigentlich ein ganz netter und runder Geruch, jedoch hatte ich die Gewürze (Zimt) oder butterige Töne als etwas zu dominant empfunden. Super süß, dick und ölig im Mund, im Abgang kommt etwas röstiges dazu. Auf der Originalflasche eines Bekannten, von der ich etwas abbekommen habe, wird diese Spirituose als Likör mit Rum beschrieben, was ehrlich ist und der Realität entspricht."
