"This was my favourite Savanna and rum of the tasting. Nice complexity and lovely balance between the fruit, caramel and spices and you could also get some molasses. I really liked the light smoky feel and wood in this release. Chocolate comes at the end of the palate. Yummy 😊"

"My first matured Savanna HERR, discovered by chance in a restaurant. The smell and taste were a big surprise. The fruitiness of the HERR and the maturity and barrel aromas harmonized perfectly. Very intense fermented fruit flavors and a certain elegance of the cognac barrel complement each other wonderfully. The finish is incredibly long and lingers on the tongue long after the bill has been paid. What genius it would be if there were better available and more affordable Herrs!"

"Ohh this is exactly my thing. Wonderfully fruity... Strawberries, papaya, pineapple, banana and a good load of esters ... Risk of confusion with high ester Jamaicaner quite possible 😅😅.... It almost explodes on the palate ... first oily warm and a little sweet...then it fills the mouth with tropical fruits and esters, here also a little floral (which is hardly present in the nose).... minimal wood and bitter in the finish. Strong performance 👍🏻"

"Tag 9 im RumX-Ester-Kalender, blind. Dass hier trotz Ester kein Jamaika im Glas ist, war wohl schnell klar. Relativ schnell ging mein Tipp dann auch nach Réunion zu Savanna, da sich vor allem im Abgang das typische Profil der Destille zeigt. Unglaublich komplexe Nase, die aus dem Glas schon entgegenströmt und nahezu alles bietet: Frucht, schokoladige Noten, pflanzliches, Menthol, das macht Spaß! Am Gaumen dann schließlich etwas dunkler, rostiger, ja sogar bitterer, aber in einem angenehmen Maß. Dazu weiterhin eine bunte Ladung Ester, sodass keine Daseinsberechtigungen für den Kalender fehlen. Tolle Abfüllung und perfekt für diese Aktion!"

"Very wonderful nose! Some harmonious notes of fruits (a lot of grapefruit), roasted aromas, almond and oak. In mouth and the finish can‘t continue from the warm welcome! I like the bitte, grapefruit notes. A big minus is the actually price tag of 400€ too. The alcohol could be integrated better. Nose: glue, fruity, mandarin, raisin, oak, vanilla, spicy, roasted, almond, toffee and some herbal notes Mouth: dry, bitter, round, tannins, licorice, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, spicy, grapefruit, nougat, earthy(not the agricole typical one), black tea Finish: Medium long, bitter, tannins, dry, grapefruit, barrel(oak), vanilla roasted"

"Die 2023er Abfüllung ist mal wieder on top.. für mich kommt sie in die Nähe der Habiation Velier Abfüllung. In der Nase nicht ganz so präsent wie diese, aber am Gaumen so gut wie ebenbürtig . Direkt einen Cocktail gemixt (Mojito) und ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis gehabt. So müssen die weißen HERR sein 🤩"

"Tasted for the first time at ProWein in Düsseldorf. Lots of green apple and herbs (dill?) on the nose. On the palate creamy sweet (in a positive sense) and spicy floral. Some nutmeg and green fruits again. After half an hour the rum opens up and you are rewarded with a great balanced profile. Spicy, some floral and a pleasant sweetness. Alcohol very well integrated."

"Very pleasant, but with little tasting depth due to a light aromatic bouquet. From a Rum Nation I would have expected more. Overall it is not bad at all, it is good drinking, but it lacks that leap to be interesting for a tasting of a certain level. Woody notes, esters, spice in a light way and a medium lasting finish of woody notes and then lychee/grape. The three years of finishing in Sherry Oloroso cask did not give much to the rum."

"Very cool rum from savanna! Nose: Fruits lightly soaked in nail polish/varnish🥃🥃Typical savanna notes mixed with butterscotch, pastries and licorice. Mouth: A width range a fruits with hints of varnish/glue/menthol. Lovely😍 The alcohol and barrel is integrated very well. The finish is quite long woody, mentholy with a dark choclatw flakes and a drop of fluid licorice"

"Un rhum goûté au Rum and Gin Festival à Lucerne en 2023 et 2024. Un nez très végétal, floral avec de l’olive verte, des fruits jaunes et du lierre. La bouche est pleine d’arômes avec beaucoup d’olive verte et toutes sortes d’herbes et des fruits. La finale est assez longue avec des arômes végétaux, du tabac frais, du bois de cèdre et surtout de la gousse de vanille."

"Overall a very special Agricole quite far from the ones from the Caribbean, thanks to the medicinal nuances together with the strong aromas and tastes of Cognac. This rum from the Savanna distillery in Reunion is a 7 yo single cask distilled in their Creol still in 2002 that after some rest was put in a ex-Cognac cask in 2004 and bottled in 1032 numbered bottles at ABV 46% in 2012, so it’s in fact 7 years and 5 months old."

"Very unusual Savanna... On the one hand, some mint, pineapple, coconut, strawberry, white chocolate, dried and sulfured apricots and on the other hand slightly salty green olive brine and young oak. Overall relatively round but overall not quite my thing."
