Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Luckily this was the last rum of the evening or all the other samples would have failed horribly in comparison. A great rum and again one that was hidden in the back of a top shelf at a tiki bar., where they had a rum aficionado. The nose is complex and well balanced with fruits, smoked Wood, vanilla and chocolate. The chocolate and vanilla really come out if you leave the empty glass for a while. The palate takes off where the nose finishes. Complex and well balanced with fruit, smoky wood, vanilla and a hint of coffee/mocha. The finish is incredibly long with wood, cherries, chocolate and vanilla. I know this is a rare bottle, but my oh my, what a great rum."

"Nose The Bouquet is a Versace dress in liquid aggregate. Incredibly oplulent, vibrant and yet of undeniable elegance. Feels almost like a perfume called Eau de Demerara, coming straight from the jungle. The scent of the finest, freshly cut woods such as sandalwood and cedar alternates in continuous play with lovely blossoms of ylang-ylang, poppy blossom, lilac and myrrh. The whole weave is carried by sweet mangoes, sticky glue and a light coconut blossom note, which absolutely corresponds to the Diamond profile. Palate La grande bellezza! Sweet, super concentrated and oily, the first sip fills the palate with dried mangos, fried cassava slices, tamarind paste and milk chocolate with coconut filling. But there is also a note of Masala Chai in there, giving it an oriental twist. The sweetness is striking! At no point does the 61.4% abv seem dominant or sharp. The tropical maturation has done a perfect job here! It's clearly a Diamond Coffey Still Rum, yet it somehow tastes more refined and sophisticated than the other Velier Diamonds. ғɪɴɪsʜ Long like the red carpet of Cannes, flanked by the abovementioned fine woods and a whole bunch of citrus peels."

"This is also an older tasting and at the release the price was very good compared to what you got. This rum is heavy, really heavy and it hits you as soon as you open the bottle. I'm not a certain but I made a note that I thought there was a hint of raisin in there. The nose is heavy on roasted wood with tar, molasses and some nuts. The palate is heavy, very complex and extremely well balanced with lots of roasted, even burnt wood actually, tar, molasses and a hint of mint. The finish goes on forever and has lots of roasted/burnt wood and tar. The note I have is that the colour was beautifully dark, bomb of a nose and heavy curtains in the glass."

"Price to quality can be argued but the quality can't. A very fruity, intense and well balanced rum. I like the roasted wood on the profile, nicely balanced without being dominant. ABV is very well integrated."

"Classic high ester Hampden 😍 Lovely funky nose of ester, glue, nail polish, fruit basket and a bit of wood. Funky, dry, delicious in nose where you’ll find all the notes again. Very smooth finish. Alcohol is integrated very well. The wood is integrated in a nice way and never become rampant. Unfortunately hard to find now… the price tag exploded too…"

"Très sombre. Très beau profil beaucoup plus sombre que son petit frère le 15ans de 2004. Le chocolat et le café sont bien présent en bouche avec un ton de fruits rouges. Un grand neisson mais je lui préfère le 15ans plus solaire et complexe. J’y reviens un an après et c’est toujours une merveille. Et ça a du caractère et de la complexité en bouche."

"This is a great rum and the price to quality is very good in my mind. The nose is fruity with wood, nuts and vanilla with trailing caramel and a nice floral note. The palate has toasted wood and fruit trailed by vanilla, licorice and chocolate. There is also a hint of menthol in there. The chocolate and fruits become very clear in the empty glass. The finish is long and has wood, chocolate and raisin with trailing vanilla."

"I wouldn't say this is a watered down rum, but it's extremely well balanced and well rounded and in a tasting this should take spot one. Fruity and nice wood well balanced with spices. The alcohol is barely noticed."

"Elegance and greediness. A very fine Neisson, which reveals itself quite fresh on the fruity and spicy side with a very seductive and mastered gourmand side (milk chocolate/cappucino). The finish is quite long on wood and spices. The alcohol is perfectly integrated."

"The cashew note on the nose bothers me a little (reminds me of Montaguere's Karukera Christian). It fades after a long opening. The palate, on the other hand, has what I like in these great Martiniquais: elegant oak and gourmet nuts, refreshed just right by the spices."

"I love going to this bar because they have a huge selection of top shelf and super rare rums. This Enmore is just up there with the best Enmore releases. Fruity with nice smoky wood notes and lovely spices. The caramel is very light and more obvious in the empty glass."

"This is a great Barbadian. Once poured you know you're in Barbados. I love the coconut that is there from nose to finish. Seems like they hit the right barrel for this release. Well balanced overall and natural sweetness on the palate. Price to quality is very good."

Top review from Jakob:
"The nose is still relatively unspectacular, as far as one can speak of a tropically aged Caroni from the over vintage 1996 - but on the palate then rises a real fireworks. Sweetness, spice, borderline smokiness, wood, rubber and tar...I feel well taken care of all around, precisely because this rum definitely has rough edges and also the high alcohol content does not hide and brings out the Caroni-typical notes almost perfectly. Impressive level."

"I’m extremely honoured to have a few drops of rum history in my glass. The colour is quite dark and once you plunge your nose into the glass you are hit with a ton of aromas. Dried fruit, vanilla, wood, spices, caramel and leather. I could n’ose the glass for hours. On the palate I get the same, the rum is round and complex with a lovely finish. Quite amazing when you think about the sailors drinking this and similar blends. They sure got some good stuff back in the day. Many, many thanks to Michael for the sample! 🤗"

"Successful blend - the DOK is of course tamed, but gets a successful counterpoint by the sweet notes of the Spanish style, which unlike the sherry finishes without the heavy fruit notes. Great addition to the high-ester spectrum, little insider tip."

"Completely different league than all other Montebellos known to me - it should of course also be noted that it is in the comparison field in terms of distillation vintages a difference of more than three decades. What is offered here, however, is simply sensational: In the nose already of breathtaking depth with heavy fruits, fresh cola aroma and floral notes, the bouquet thickens on the palate to an oily texture with chocolaty sweetness, heavy fruitiness, excellent spice and perfectly balanced wood influence. Whatever Carrere (or whoever - the exact origin is still rumored) did differently than today: Play it again, Sam!"

"If you like Bellevue then this is one of the really good ones. Price to quality was great at release. The nose is intense and fruity with wood, cinnamon, honey and herbal notes after resting for more than 15 minutes. The palate is both intense, complex and well balanced with fruit, honey and leather with light candied, chocolate and herbal notes. The finish is extremely long with dried fruit, wood, leather, honey and herbal notes. Leave the empty glass for a few hours and whiff it again to get the full experience."

"We had a nice Agricole evening yesterday and the lineup was really good. I'll start with the last one first. A grand Agricole from the top shelf. Really well balanced with light fruit and age shown in the elegant wood on the profile. Light caramel and licorice in the back of the profile. Not a cheap bottle but definitely a good one and I will go hunting for one if u can find it at a good price."

"Last Sundays tasting was a great one and one of the best ones this year. This is the heavy stuff and you can pick up the flavours from a distance away just ope ING the bottle. Hot stuff on the palate but a very nice one. Try without water first, just let it rest for 30 minutes. "

"Just had another go at this rum and knowing now, that it needs to rest for around 30 minutes, it scored better this time. A very rich and full bodied rum with a nice long strong finish. There is a nice vanilla and molasses hint to it throughout and the price definitely matches the quality. Remember to rest it to get the full experience. "

Top review from Tim :

"I would have loved if this rum had a higher ABV because it's very light in the profile. This also makes it sweeter that it should have been in my mind. Fruity with nice roasted wood. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some tobacco and citrus."

"Al naso è accogliente con melassa, caramello, pelle e lieve cacao/caffè. Al palato è leggero e setoso, con sentori di caramello e di barile, nel finale caffè e qualche spezia. Finale molto leggero però estremamente rotondo. Piacevole. Nel bicchiere vuoto melassa, cacao e caffè"

"Once rested this becomes a pretty good release. Fruity and nutty with wood and very light roasted notes. I like the caramel in the profile because it's subtle but adds something to the profile. Balanced and oily on the palate and very nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass was amazing after an hour or so."

"First off. You get a pretty good rum for your money. Panamanian rums are usually kind of subtle or mellow with some marzipan in the profile. This one however has that extra boom that you often want. The rum is nice and warm on the palate with light fruit and nice wood. I like the light caramel and menthol on the palate. The finish is long and warm and sticks with you for a good while."

"Some may say this is an expensive rum but once you had a meeting with it I'm pretty sure you're going to change your mind. A super rum Agricole worth every penny. After resting for. Awhile the nose reveals roasted oak with nice fruits and spices. There is a bit of honey and very light grass notes as well. A very intense but nice array of flavours. The palate is a wonder of intensity and complexity as well as being very well balanced. The ABV is perfectly integrated and you barely feel it. Again lightly roasted oak with fruits and spices as well as a hint of caramel and chocolate. The finish is løng with oak and spices topped off with a touch of raisin. Wonderful rum indeed."

"Another nice surprise when tasting this one at a rum event in Copenhagen. The nose is wonderfully fruity with some coffee and a tail of wood. "Yet another nice Bielle, unfortunately it's a rather rare bottle which makes the price go through the roof. The quality is really good but doesn't match the 500 euro+price tag. The nose is wonderful and fruity with spices. In the back there is a light wood note with a hint of nuts. The palate is lightly woody with fruits and spices. The palate is also warm and well balanced with a peppery note and nougat hidden in the back. The finish is medium to long with light wood and lovely fruits. There is a nice balance in spices and a nice refreshing menthol touch. A very good rum but the price is a bit off."

Top review from Rodolphe:
"Very nice Agricole. I guess a wine barrel that has marked the rum, perhaps a Sauternes style wine because the rum has a honeyed and sweet side. And since Bielle often does this type of maturation... It is very good for those who like this winey agricultural profile with a nice sweetness."

The finish is medium long and sweet with dried fruit, wood and light vanilla."

"Had a retaste and this time I had the right cigar to go with it and wow what a difference, this is truly a mix well worth a try even though the cigar is slightly expensive and hard to get. Just decided to crack open this wonderful bottle and I regret not having a Cohiba Piramides to go with it. I know it was made to match the Cohiba Siglo VI, but that is too heavy a cigar for me :-) A cooperation between master blender Asbel Morales and cigar sommelier Fernando Fernández and they made something out of this world. A wonderful deep and elegant masterpiece that has a long, warm and elegant balanced finish. A rum worthy of the price tag and then some!"

"Compared to the parallel tasted RX930 clearly more accessible, here the lower alcohol content pays off times properly. The Bristol Cuban is a typical representative of the Destilería "Paraíso", light and fluffy and wonderfully fragrant and tasting of apple and pear.An ideal companion for a lively evening and quite offerable to friends who otherwise have nothing to do with rum.I would probably prefer the rum with 5-10% more alcohol, if he would bring the same flavors so beautifully to the fore, but he is also so a pleasant rum with recognition value."

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"So this is how a rum tastes that consists of 100% aguardiente (a first for a Cuban distillate, as far as I know). And indeed: Something comparable I had not yet in the glass. Blind I would not have been able to assign the rum at all. In this first tasting, I focused on finding differences between Batch 1 and Batch 2. And they are indeed there: While Batch 1 gets going right away fruity-floral on the nose, Batch 2 is clearly more timid, more discreet. On the palate, however, it's the other way around: Batch 1 tends to confirm the impression gained on the nose, coming across like a light rum in a summer meadow with a gentle breeze blowing over it. Batch 2 is different: While Batch 1 seems somehow slightly broad, Batch 2 is clearly more astringent and has more depth, more wood and tobacco. On the latter, one could perhaps recognize the Cuban DNA - but only maybe.Overall, both are solid rums and which one tastes more, is probably dependent on the day or what weight you attach to the olfactory impression. Because of the interesting transformation from the nose to the palate, Batch 2 is a point ahead for me today. As I said, a very exciting bottling of Excellence Rhum and La Confrérie du Rhum. But if one wanted to dare at least a geographical comparison: To the long-stored consistently exquisite 98s of Sanct Spíritus ((Cuba) reach both batches not yet."

"Another retaste and I stick to my initial score. This is the bomb of Chairman’s Reserve. A very intense and well balanced rum. I was very locky to get a sample and I like it a lot. The nose is intense and has smoky wood and fruit trailed by cinnamon and coffee. The palate takes off where the nose left. A warm and intense rum, yet well balanced with smoky wood, fruits and spices. The finish is extremely long and warm with smoky wood, dried fruits and spices. Price to quality can be argued, when I compare it to my other old Chairman’s Reserve rums for which I paid less than half :-)"

"After pouring into the glass, the rum immediately takes possession of the surrounding air with thick, heavy swaths. Closer to the glass I find sour cherry, red berries and cassis. The fruit compote is accompanied by very pleasant and balanced roasted and barrel notes. Pleases me excellently. I have compared on the fly with some other St Lucia but this one is a blast on the nose! On the palate, the tannins clearly have the upper hand: lots of spice, oak, leather, salty licorice. The fruit is only subtly in the background and from the bitter category. The rum reminds me of old Armagnac on the palate. The ever-long aftertaste is clearly dominated by barrel and spice. I would have liked the fruits of the nose to reappear but so there is a certain break between nose and palate. The bitter notes, however, are not in the unpleasant range for my sensation. Regardless, an excellent, intense, powerful rum."

"Some migh consider this a light rum, but it's one of the best Fiji rums I have tasted. Fresh and fruity with some grass and flowers on there. I really like the smoky wood finish that last for a good while. On the first sip it is kind og heavy but it settles after that. Leave to rest for a good while and all the goodness comes at you. "I like this bottler and I have just oddered three different releases from Jamaica. Their average quality is pretty good and the price tage even better. The nose is fruity with smoky wood, vanilla, tea and a hint of varnish. I love the cherry flavour that becomes clearer if you leave the glass empty for a while. The palate is lightly dry with smoky wood, fruits and spices. There is a lovely minty touch in there as well. The finish is lightly dry with smoky wood and a mix of fruits. Price to quality is very good."
