"Classic high ester Hampden 😍 Lovely funky nose of ester, glue, nail polish, fruit basket and a bit of wood. Funky, dry, delicious in nose where you’ll find all the notes again. Very smooth finish. Alcohol is integrated very well. The wood is integrated in a nice way and never become rampant. Unfortunately hard to find now… the price tag exploded too…"

"Un rhum goûté dans un restaurant, la bouteille est bien entamée. Un nez de grappa, fort en alcool, du végétal, comme une réminiscence de rhum agricole, rare chez Caroni. En bouche l’alcool tape fort et les notes d’ateliers sont présentes au côté des fruits tropicaux avec un côté fumé assez net. Mon Caroni favori de la soirée, un peu fort en alcool, mais sinon délicieux. Le verre vide révèle d’autres arômes végétais et mème floraux. Un Caroni sur la fraîcheur et la jeunesse, mais l’alcool est un peu trop présent."

"Anotger really nice bottle. The ABV is rather low as well but it still carries a nice punch of complexity. Medium fruity with good balance between the fruit and roasted wood notes. Made a note that the empty glass had some licorice and tannin notes."

"This rum is so complex and well balanced that you barely recognise the high proof. Just wow is the best way to describe this almost perfect bottle. The price tag definitely matches the quality and if you get the chance, make sure to get a sip. "

"At the time of release this rum had a very good price tag compared to what you get. The price has already gone up a lot since then and it's a bottle hard to find. The nose is very fruity with wood, vanilla and leather as well as a very light earthy note. The palate is complex, sweet and well balanced with fruits, wood, vanilla and chocolate followed by light notes of tobacco and coffee. The finish is long and warm with dried fruit, wood and chocolate. Leave to rest for at least 15 minutes to get all the flavours."

"Enfin pu goûter au tout 1er millesime de Neisson. C’est un 10 ans d’âge On n’a pas le pti goût de noisette comme sur les derniers neisson mais plus un goût noix de pécan et le boisé est présent avec un pti côté salé il s’efface relativement vite, la longueur est juste moyenne. C’est le 1er millesime embouteillé par Alex Bobi à son arrivée en 2001 chez neisson. Un rhum collector"

"If you like the beguiling notes of fresh oak with caramel and vanilla that so often accompany tropically aged Demeraras, you'll be right at home here. While there aren't too many other flavors to add to the flavor profile besides a few nuanced spice aromas and subtle dried fruits, this concentration and syrupy melt alone are simply fun for me as a Demerara lover and probably also give the bottling a subjective flavor bonus in the rating. No rum that would overwhelm on the basis of its complexity - instead simply seductively delicious at a high level."
