"This is a great rum with a long time in the barrel. Despite the age the wood is not super dominating and that makes this a very well balanced rum. The nose it lightly fruity and brown sugar with clear caramel right off the bat. After resting you get toasted wood and light coffee notes. The palate is very well balanced, oily and continues where the nose left off. Fruity with caramel in the front followed by nuts, chocolate, wonderful brown sugar and toasted wood. The finish is medium to long with spices, wood, cocoa and raisin. There is a light salty touch in the finish."

"This is a great Barbadian. Once poured you know you're in Barbados. I love the coconut that is there from nose to finish. Seems like they hit the right barrel for this release. Well balanced overall and natural sweetness on the palate. Price to quality is very good."

"Un rhum dégusté dans le restaurant de l’embouteilleur Sansibar. Un nez de calvados avec du bois et de l’ananas. La bouche donne aussi une impression de calvados avec des stéroïdes, un côté poires aussi, des épices et comme un arrière goût d’encens. Le rhum est long avec de la poire et un côté bois fumé. Le verre vide laisse comme une impression d’église normande. Une très belle étiquette et un beau rhum !"

"A pretty good Saint James. The typical notes are there and I really like the light coffee note in the profile. ABV is pretty well integrated but could have been better. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass reveals even more notes like nutts and light ginger."

This one feels very smooth and soft (mind you compared to other Caronis at higher ABVs) and enjoyable as long as you fancy Caroni notes. "Needs a bit until it opens, but then blatantly spicy, I spontaneously old Madeiras come to mind, along with coffee, raisin and creme brulee. On the palate sweet and spicy. The rather high ABV is present but not disturbing. Sure, you have to like this style, but it just fits perfectly with the cigar (maybe it's also because Spaniards were the first companions to the cigar back then 😉). For me, a real top Spaniard!"

"I didn’t take any notes at the Rhum Fest so a more detailed review will follow as soon as I get the chance to sample this rum again in a better context. I finally managed to sample this rum a second time and have to say that I’m less enthusiastic about it than at the rhum fest. Lowering my note from 84 to 79 as it makes for a decent sipper but lacks depth and complexity."

"Tasted for the first time at ProWein in Düsseldorf. Lots of green apple and herbs (dill?) on the nose. On the palate creamy sweet (in a positive sense) and spicy floral. Some nutmeg and green fruits again. After half an hour the rum opens up and you are rewarded with a great balanced profile. Spicy, some floral and a pleasant sweetness. Alcohol very well integrated."

"Retasting and I stick to my older score. Very popular among the other tasters and the story of how it came to be was really cool. ----- Old tasting note below ----- I do like a navy rum and this is a nice blend actually. Stille doesn't beat my favourite Black Tot 50th and Master Blander edition. Medium heavy navy rum with oak and spices. Nice warm and spicy on the palate. There is a hint of smoke and solvents, but the overall balance is pretty good actually. Price to quality is very good."

"Profil très différent de ce que je connaissais chez Beenleigh. Il faut laisser beaucoup de temps à ce rhum pour se révéler. Sans cela, l'alcool est trop présent. Si on prend le temps, on démarre sur un Foursquare boosté aux solvants au nez (édit : avec du recul, la Foursquare est quand même loin...) Puis on enchaine sur un profil plus pâtissier en bouche. L'alcool reste très présent. Normal vu le degré d'alcool. Mais on a tellement été habitué à des intégrations dingues avec Swell donc celui-ci détonne un peu. Ça reste très bon et très au-dessus des notes à 65 qui présentes sur ce rhum. Édit : gros besoin d'aération. Minimum 30-45 minutes. Après cela, on découvre un profil très sympathique Édit : gagne clairement à s'oxyder."

"Yet another retaste and here I also stick to my score 😊 This is a surprisingly good white unaged rum. Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. Very fruity with an intense nose and starting palate. The chemical factory like my friend calls it is there and the finish is very long and warm. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is very nice even after hours."

"Whoo! The alcohol is well felt on the nose. But exotic fruits are not far away, fortunately! Pineapple in particular. The palate is hot and uncomplicated, but again fruits like banana. Ultra short finish with a remnant of dates. As stated on the label, not really to be sipped, more for cocktails. A few drops of water don't soften this bomb, they even make the nose worse.Amazing!"

"This is the 5th draw so the last one before the tail. More up my alley as there is far more power in the flavours. Drier than the younger brother and really nice balance between the elements. Intense, fruity and fresh with a bit of funk in my mind. Very good ABV integration. The curtains are much lighter in this release."

"#4151 This one is also a very good beginners rum. I'd say this one is a bit more elegant with its floral notes. Still a sweet rum with nice balance between spices and wood.
