Black Tot Rum
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"It did not impress me at all. Disappointing. Too much alcohol and anonymous aromas. It remains a pleasant after-meal rum, but uninteresting for tasting at a certain level. I expected more from a well reviewed rum...I probably failed to understand it."
Pure Single Jamaican Rum Overproof
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A really good Jamaican style rum with a real punch. I'd say most may need a few drops of water to make it a lot more digestible. Rest for 15-20 minutes for all flavours to be released. Has more bang for your buck than the 92 proof version."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Magnificent! On the nose tar, barrel and lightly cherry and vanilla. In the mouth an explosion of perfectly balanced sensations. Still tar, barrel and followed by toastiness and chocolate with a mix of spices.Intense finish that lingers until the next day.In my small way, one of the best rums I have tasted. I assigned 94 because there are too many great rums that I have never tasted and may never taste."

"Dieser Rum ist etwas besonderes! 12 Jahre im Bourbon-Fass mit einem Finish in Fässern, die mit Kakao gefüllt waren, weshalb man hier die voll Drönung Schokolade bekommt. Etwas alkoholische Schärfe leider ist auch mit dabei."
El Dorado Rare Collection AN
Top review from Jakob:
"Does not fall in the blind direct comparison with the Velier Albions. Classic Albion notes of sweet vanilla, oak and caramel, but with a somewhat too noticeable bitter note on the palate, without which it would go even higher. Serious alternative in the (still) tolerable price range."
El Dorado Rare Collection SWR
Top review from Jakob:
"Simply excellent. Brings the Demerara-typical, unique in this form oak vanilla note in perfection in glass. In addition, chocolate melt, hints of latte, fine spices, caramel, a touch of dried fruit and allspice ... I am impressed time and again by the aromatic force that this bottling conjures up in the glass. That a completely tropically stored Guyana in the Skeldon Marque with such a high-class profile remains available for so long at the issue price is in view of the current demand m.E. not rationally explainable - but shall be fine with me. An absolute price-performance tip, even at prices well beyond the 200€."
Rum Fire
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a triple distilled pure pot stills HLCF rum which gives an ester level of 500-600. The finish is rather long and tastes about the same as on the palate. I think it’s the best of the three big white Overproof’s from Jamaica, it’s funky, potent, complex and powerful without being too pungent."
Black Tot Rum 50th Anniversary 2020
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I just love this rum so I have ordered yet another backup bottle. This is a pretty well blended and also well balanced rum from Black Tot. Spicy bit well balanced with the other elements and you barely get a burn from the proof once rested for 15 minutes. The dominant rum in this blend is clearly the one from Guyana. You only get hints of the ones from Jamaica and Barbados. For the price a pretty good rum."

Top review from zabo:
"Edit Edit: batch #1 is better than batch #2 Edit: it's also really good as a mixer. Simply a classic. Good price/performance ratio. Works wonderfully to enhance both cocktails and long drinks. For me, it's the best entry-level Hampden and always will be. That's why I had to upgrade it again."

Top review from Agricoler:
"Also highly recommended neat for the price - an absolute cracker. Really nice banana and green fruit on the nose. Top mixer that I always have a bottle of at home. The best in white from Jamaica and Barbados combined."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice rum, but too similar to hampden the younger and the 50 euro difference is a tease to the consumer. Unfortunately lately Velier is releasing overpriced bottlings where you pay for the brand and less for the quality of the product. Personally I would never buy it taking into account that the overproof can be found at 80 euros and this at 110 and the younger at 59."
Cinabrio Ron 12 Años
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"very nice play of orange peel, tangerine & toffee, clearly better than the old 12 cihuatan. apparently not only the design but also the recipe has been improved again here.👌🏽 overall, however, it is a bit woody and one-dimensional but nicely orangey. I find the indigo better in terms of plv."
Great House (Distillery Edition 2023)
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Blind tasting 01.02.2024, 2nd rum of the evening Nose: But now Jamaica! Some kind of low ester, I would say. Palate: A little too sour for me, seems one-dimensional, but the alcohol is well integrated. But stick with Jamaica. An HGML? The Younger perhaps? Resolution: Wow, the latest GH, really? I would have expected more."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Despite the relatively young age this is a piece of heaven! If you add a few drops of water it releases even more tastes in your mouth previously hidden by the alcohol. An excellent rum that you should give a try. But careful it might want you to go for seconds and thirds 😊"

Top review from cigares :
"A rather harsh rum when the sample is opened, it takes a few hours, but then synthetic varnish and fruit galore on the nose. Apple, pineapple, overripe banana. After a long wait, the palate is rather soft, the varnish fortunately more discreet, giving way to fruit and a vegetal note (lime blossom). The finish is long and fruity, with yellow and tropical fruits. I love it! A fine rum with balance and elegance on the palate and finish, but you have to be patient and disregard the first nose. It probably lacks age, but I definitely like Long Pond."
Pagos Sherry 2023
Top review from Galli33:
"I prefer the Pagos 2023 over the last years edition! This has more „Hampden“ power and the Sherry barrel is integrated much better (due the change of the barrels… maybe?) and the sherry stays more in the background like a faithful campanion and fit perfect with the Hampden flavours. Grilled pineapple meets sour cherries overwhelmed by esters 🤤🥃 The alcohol is very present, i would say typical for a young Hampden."

Top review from Oliver:
"Lots of marzipan and varnish on the nose. Incredibly intense and complex on the palate. Slightly acidic, spicy and fruity. The 18 years of tropical maturation produce an absolute top release. One of my highlights at Whisky Live Paris 2023."
Hearts Collection - 2002
Top review from Oliver:
"On the nose a great combination of fruits (cherry, apples, mango), citrus and sweet notes (caramel, vanilla). Quite dry on the palate with red fruits (cherries again) and spicy wood notes. Little esters, but a pronounced spiciness and creaminess. Great Jamaican rum with little funk but power."
Fine Australian Rum
Top review from cigares :
"Rum and chocolate tasting by Rum Club Switzerland. A nose of tropical fruit (banana), citrus, varnished wood and sweetness (pastries). A floral note completes the nose. The palate has a fairly lively attack, with fruit and floral notes emerging later. The finish is long, with fruit and wood on the finish. Empty glass, fruit and wood varnish in harmony. A fine, lively, well-balanced rum. It lacks a little depth, but it's very well made and a pleasure to drink."
Art of Rhum by Vast
Top review from Oliver:
"Tasted for the first time at ProWein in Düsseldorf. Lots of green apple and herbs (dill?) on the nose. On the palate creamy sweet (in a positive sense) and spicy floral. Some nutmeg and green fruits again. After half an hour the rum opens up and you are rewarded with a great balanced profile. Spicy, some floral and a pleasant sweetness. Alcohol very well integrated."

Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"Needs some time in the glass but then shows multilayered flavors that come together, I think, very elegant. He has quite a lot of force to which you have to get used briefly. Unusually, I find the quite present saltiness. A few drops of water I also find not wrong."
Monymusk Jamaica Single Rum MMW
Top review from DomM:
"Starts off with intense notes of roasted nuts and beacon, which evolves into tropical fruits and MM herbal notes after some time. On the palate it is very elegant and way less punchy than expected. Feels almost „light“. Nevertheless very nice one combining roasted notes with a basked of tropical fruits and spices."

Rum Artesanal Guyana Rum PM
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Excellent rum! All elements are in perfect balance, none overpowering the other. On the nose the caramel throws off thinking you will find a sweet flavor, instead the rum comes out slightly bitter and dry. Later in the mouth, toasty, woody, spicy and grape notes are noticeable. The caramel gone, perhaps cocoa or chocolate. The finish is medium long with the persistence of the grape and after that more tobacco, but still all very soft.A rum that given the distillery and aging I would have expected something more!"
S.B.S Jamaica (Single Origin Rum) TECA
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Loving long ponds, I decided to purchase a white. I expected more marzipan, which I love in its aged counterpart, however it is a remarkable white. Complex, strong in the solvent part, but never overdone. Olive and esters on the nose. In the mouth solvents and a fleeting roasted/smoky note. On the finish pineapple and lychee, medium-long duration.Whites for me must have a different evaluation than amber."
Vieux Sajous (LMDW)
Top review from Thunderbird:
"The successor to Sajous is quite similar to its predecessor, but doesn't quite come close. It is much tamer than the latter, which some people may like better, as it is somewhat rounder and more palatable. The range of aromas is very good and varied (fruit, spice, sugar cane)"
Rum Artesanal Burke‘s Seamaster Blended Rum
Top review from Oliver:
"Harmonious blend from Barbados (main component) and Jamaica. Typical Foursquare associations on the nose with a few tropical fruits. On the palate, the Jamaican component comes out a little more. A great blend for relaxed enjoyment. However, the real strength lies in high-quality drinks."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 38 Belize Rum
Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Chocolate, nuts, slightly coconut. Somehow also something slightly floral and menthol. Slight spiciness on the palate .... nice sweetness. Here again these floral notes ... as well as chocolate and nuts. All in all, a good Belize with hardly any recognition value ... which doesn't make it any worse, just not really different from the others."

"Another nice white from S.B.S and the price is pretty good compared to what you get. This one can also be used to sip, on the rocks or in a mixer. I liked it a lot on the rocks as well where other flavours come to life. Not a Habitation Velier, but still pretty decent."
Flensburg Rum Company Guyana REV

"For me one of the highlights of the German Rum Festivals 2023. Compared to other 1994 Enmore REV it is quite flat, but undoubtedly a sensational bottling that is a lot of fun. Much more complex than the new vintages."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 32 C<>H
Top review from cigares :
"RumX Awards 2023 and re-tasted 6 months later. Despite its age, the esters are very present without dominating. Buttery, nicely acidic, lemony, overripe banana, grilled bacon and yellow fruit make up a nose that remains balanced despite its complexity. The attack is lively and explosive, with fat (butter) tempering the fire and fruit filling the mouth. Yellow fruit (pear and apple) and young wood. The finish is long, elegant and fresh. No flaws here, everything is clean and precise. The wood is perfectly integrated. The fruit remains right to the end. In the empty glass, you discover an unprecedented sweetness, with the wood clearly perceptible. The favorite rum of this top RumX selection."

The empty glass has a nice herbal touch as well as light mint."

Top review from Galli33:
"This is my first ever rum from grenada! And this one is really special… I found some strange notes like medicinal, plastic, rubber, phenol, petrol reminds me on a Savanna HERR/Lontan, but it‘s also a bit on the dirty side (i wouldn‘t say caroni like). Those notes are overwhelmig all the other notes like wood, oak, herbal, floral, sugarcane, a bit fruity (citrus?!). All in all it‘s a special one, for sure, but a good one. The alcohol is integrated well and fits in perfect. I‘m still undecided, if I should order a bottle or not… 🤔😬"

"Freshly opened and tasted both neat and as a CubaLibre. Personally, I don't find it one hundred percent convincing neat, as it's a little too aggressive on the palate. Perhaps it should have breathed longer. But it delivers all the better in CubaLibre. I'll probably have to give it more time again."

"Blind tasting 01.02.2024, 1st rum Nose: spicy at first, then sweeter and sweeter, Jamaica? Palate: no, not Jamaica, very light, but not typical Jamaican fruity-earthy; you can drink it, but you don't have to Resolution: Belize? I would never have guessed that. Definitely a good starter."

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Definitely on par with the predecessor 94 REV from Bellamys. Flavors a little more cassis, more burnt caramel, dark chocolate and rosemary / lavender, as well as dried fig and grapefruit peel. Also very tasty but really hard to say which one I like better!Flavor-wise this one is a bit more intense and has the longer finish due to the more %, but the other one is a bit more complex if you let it and has the nicer nose. Both at eye level!"

Rum grape nut chocolate with a good bang and a tropical fruit salad soaked in rum on the nose, then more green sour grape & pineapple, cocoa, coconut and candied ginger in the taste. in the finish then a nice velvety mango, subtle licorice and again rum / grape / nut chocolate. very cool stuff!🤘🇯🇲🤤"
2023 Limited Edition HERR
Top review from Thunderbird:
"The 2023 bottling is once again on top... for me it comes close to the Habiation Velier bottling. Not quite as present on the nose as this one, but almost on a par on the palate. I mixed a cocktail straight away (mojito) and had a real taste sensation. This is how the white HERR must be 🤩 Edit: Tasted again in the Savanna Masterclass. My rating remains"
Cuban Rum
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"The raisin aroma in the nose can also be found on the palate, but only in the middle section. Before that, I briefly taste something like the addition of vanillin from baking (thanks, Dirk, for the classification). After the really concise, pleasant taste of sweet raisins and dried apricot, I really like the wonderful cocoa and coffee finish, which can be felt for a long time in the empty glass. No alcohol perceptible on the nose at any time, great! Very dark color, but not - as one might expect - an oily, heavy texture, but rather light. My conclusion: A drinkable, round, elegant rum from start to finish, with no break between nose and palate, which is certainly a great match for a cigar. Due to the 1992 vintage in combination with the country of origin, this rum has an absolutely unique selling point. Is that what you call a unicorn? Whether it really is significantly better than the TWJ 1978 (from the same distillery in Santiago de Cuba, as I assume after tasting it) remains to be seen in a direct comparison. But I'm already sure that the guys from the Wu Dram Clan are to be congratulated once again on their excellent choice of cask. Recommendation! Update 2024-04-10: Finally direct tasting today against the Cuban 1978 from TWJ (RX17933) and the difference could hardly be greater. I see my earlier separate assessments confirmed: They may both come from the same distillery, but where I taste incisively fine cocoa in the 92, in the 78 it's just penetrating tasting damp, charred wood - like a campfire that was put out yesterday and got rain overnight. The 78 has simply been in the barrel too long."

"Incredibly complex and intense nose - to fall in love! First association was Hampden. Boiled down, tropical fruit, peach and pleasant esters - not too funky. The 38 years in the barrel rounded it out to perfection. Wow, a real explosion on the palate, this is also where the Long Pond character comes out. Perfectly balanced yet complex. Very pleasant bitterness. In the finish, some smoke is added.Outstanding! Absolutely exceptional Jamaican."

"Also a retaste for me and again I stick to the initial score. A light Caroni in my ming but the overall balance is really good. In my mind the price tag on this rum is high compare to what you get. That said it's still a pretty good Caroni. Not super heavy in the traditional notes, but a more controlled version. The rubber and tar is there as well as nice wood and light fruit with light spice, mint and also herbal notes."

Top review from Jakob:
"Relatively relaxed PM profile with spices and dry fruits and nicely balanced green notes. The palate reveals a flavorful complexity of wood, dried fruit, tea, cinnamon, chocolate and subtle pastry notes. The result is an elegant balance between tart wood influences and green spice notes, the delicate sweetness of the dried fruit and pastry notes, and elegant toastiness in the finish. Successful barrel selection!"
Rum Artesanal Guyana
Top review from Jakob:
"Very herbal Uitvlugt, should be attributed to the PM Marque. Exciting basic profile of licorice, wood and some toffee. Unfortunately, this is once again pushed to the fore by a somewhat irritating sage fennel note that has been present in some Artesanal bottlings over the past two years. For me, the impact in the direction of cough tea and herbal liquor is a bit too intense. Comes for me therefore not to the better continental aged PM Marques."
Heavy Trinidad Rum HTR
Top review from Jakob:
"The Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: Complex with pointed sweetness and heavy fruit notes, which are contrasted by the barrel influences, tart spiciness and subtle Caroni dirt notes. One of the releases from the presumed "Paxarette era", which scores with sophistication and complexity despite 24 years of tropical storage."
Réunion Rum (Bottled for Kirsch)
Top review from Mirco:
"I was skeptical about this finish beforehand. Unfortunately, the bottling doesn't really convince me either. As a Savanna fan, I don't really see any parallels to the base here. "Dark and heavy on the nose. Wood / liquorice / some dried fruits / roasted (nuts). Similar notes on the palate with liquorice / dried fruits and herbal notes. Feels a little harsh overall - from the freshly opened bottle mind you. Similarly to The Nectar SV this is not unlike the beloved SWR profile from 2001. However, again with a twist towards more herbal notes overall. Side-by-side with both to come :)"

"The first Fiji from the vintage. With the high ABV, expectations were quite high. Unfortunately, I was bitterly disappointed. I miss the typical dirty in-your-face Fiji profile. "A rum tasted at the WLP. A very aromatic nose, much more so than the Audacieux. Vanilla and caramel, light oak and tropical fruit, citrus. Surprisingly smooth on the palate, given the ABV. Aromas of chocolate and caramel, young wood. All in balance. A long, gently fading finish. A better rum than Audacieux for my taste. An amazing discovery and integration of alcohol!"

Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"Very pretty nose, typical of Versailles. Big herbaceous notes of thyme and tea fill the nostrils with freshness, followed by notes of pencil shavings and resinous sap. The oak is discreet, while the spices show the tip of their nose with anise, licorice, pepper and smokier notes of incense. Citrus zest and prunes make way for medicinal notes ranging from beeswax to polish. A remarkably deep and complex nose. The attack on the palate is very pleasant. The oily, refined character blends well with the depth and complexity of the aromas. Flavors of aromatic herbs, tea, pencil shavings and tobacco appear on a more earthy, vegetal bent, followed by a profusion of spices ranging from licorice, anise, cloves, pepper and vanilla. Toasty oak goes hand in hand with leather, which lends a bit of bitterness with the herbs. Molasses, honey and caramel add a little sweetness to this subtle but very complex profile. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is rather delicate and refined, but lingers on the palate with herbaceous notes (thyme, tea), dried fruit (grape, apricot), pencil and tobacco notes, oak and caramelized notes leading to molasses. The spices are relatively mild, but tantalize the palate with rather seductive touches of honey, toast and salt. A superb antique Enmore, of which there must be very few left on earth."

Palate Oily, fresh, round, vegetal, olive, faint salt, faint smoke, citrus, faint grass, sugarcane, faint tar. Finish Medium long, fresh, oily, vegetal, olive, light salt, citrus, light herbal. Belizean Rum
Top review from Christian Rudt:
"Debut of Wolfgang Klotz as an independent bottler. A typical Belize? It arrives with a lot of steam, at least on the nose, and needs time to catch its breath. At first, it is strongly reminiscent of the almost classic FRC from 2006, with typical coconut, vanilla and oak, plus more and more sweet fruit notes. Surprisingly sweet on the palate, the brute strength is definitely there but is well balanced by the sweetness and makes this rum extremely drinkable."

"Thinking about the price tag on this bottle you get a jackpot. A slightly different rum from the destiller and the added vanilla from their own crop makes an impact. The rum is very dark and looks great in the glass. The nose is mild, fresh and sweet with vanilla and port right out of the bottle. I also get plum and sugarcane flavours after resting. The palate is fresh and sweet and equally strong on vanilla and port. Sugarcane, plum and vanilla comes in second. The finish is medium long and sweet with vanilla, port and some fruits."

Ramero Rum Double Blend
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Feiner Rum. Schönen Schokoladengeschmack in der Nase und im Gaumen ebenfalls. Ist leich süßlich, aber irgendwie hat dieser Rum einen kräftigen Geschmack. Die Süsse fällt auch kaum auf, echt top dieser Rum."
Ramero Rum Cigar Rum
Top review from Tim :
"5 verschiedene Fässer sind bei diesem Rum beteiligt, was theoretisch erstmal spannend klingt. Praktisch reiht er sich für mich jedoch irgendwo zwischen dem Double Blend und Cask Selection ein, weil sie doch sehr ähnlich sind. Der Cask Selection bleibt dabei mein Favorit."
Strand 101
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Diesen Rum finde ich einfach klasse, auch wenn er nur 50% ABV hat. Aber die fruchtige Nase ist einfach toll. Am Gaumen kommt die Frucht dann auch zum Vorschein, vor allem dunkle Beeren, außerdem holzig und etwas Vanille. Echt lecker."
Ramero Rum Single Cask Guyana (Merlot Finish)
Top review from Tim :
"For me, this is the best rum from Ramero. Quite a grenade actually, the Merlot finish has raised the good base material to the next level. Super tasty and round! The price is also okay. I'd like to try it again --> said, done, at the Heimat Distillerie festival."
