"Enjoying this lovely and complex rum before the first tasting of 2023. I love Neisson because their baseline on the older rums is pretty high. Very fruity and fresh with a hint of mint and licorice. Complex and very well balanced 😊 The finish is very long and smooth. Very nice curtains in the glass."

"Yet another nice Bielle, unfortunately it's a rather rare bottle which makes the price go through the roof. The quality is really good but doesn't match the 500 euro+price tag. The nose is wonderful and fruity with spices. In the back there is a light wood note with a hint of nuts. The palate is lightly woody with fruits and spices. The palate is also warm and well balanced with a peppery note and nougat hidden in the back. The finish is medium to long with light wood and lovely fruits. There is a nice balance in spices and a nice refreshing menthol touch. A very good rum but the price is a bit off."

"Last Sundays tasting was a great one and one of the best ones this year. This is the heavy stuff and you can pick up the flavours from a distance away just ope ING the bottle. Hot stuff on the palate but a very nice one. Try without water first, just let it rest for 30 minutes. "

"Just got a bottle at a very good discount. One of the perks of being a big private collector. Just did a retaste. The nose is really nice and it's there from pouring it's just tickling your nose from afar. It start off very fruity with orange/lemon dominating. Then descends into wood and smoke. A very nice nose indeed. The palate is surprisingly warm the proof considered, but it is a disappointment because the flavours get mixed up and I think this one would have benefitted from a higher proof. Not as fruity and slightly tannin/tea bitter. The finish is medium long and woody/fruity."

Top review from TheRhumhoe:

"When you look at the price tag you will get a surprise trying this rum. You get a bang for your buck here. Very fruity and fresh with nice floral notes. The palate is smooth and rounded despite the ABV. Lovely rum 😊"

"#4032 This is a really nice glass as well and the price tag is more than justified in my mind. Fruity with nice spicy profile and pretty well balanced ABV and wood. Fresh ans lightly oily in the palate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and I can pick up some chocolate and herbal notes in the empty glass."

"This was a pretty expensive sample and I had great expectations and I got a bit disappointed. This is a good rum but really does t live up to the hype and price tag. Now some may disagree, but I think it's a bit thin and Neisson has released far better rums. In a few words, fruity, round and wood with a touch of nutts."

"#4494 03-04.11.2023 Den Danske Whiskyfestival. Again a special meet up besides the event itself because we think it's a bit too dull. Had a great time with friends again. My notes. This sample arrived just in time from Singapore for us to share. Not a big sample but just enough for all to try. Nose: balanced, complex, spices, wood, faint fruit. Palate: oily, balanced, complex, spices, wood, earthy. Finish: medium to long and very complex, spices, wood, light coffee. I'm still mind boggled about how they put such complexity and balance into this relative ABV. Unfortunately the prices go up with each release..... Empty glass has very light chocolate and tobacco notes."

"Ok now we are getting into the slightly more premium side of Karukera as this bottle will set you back about 100€ today. Lots of wood and barrel on nose and palate. Well-integrated alcohol. ABV is just right here, not sure it could support more but definitely wouldn't want less either. The bitter note, which I'm starting to suspect is a Karukera signature, is present but is much better and more enjoyable than in the 2009 select cask. Very noticeable caramel. Medium to short finish. Price to quality is mediocre, but it's a very enjoyable rum nevertheless."

"One of the best Agricole’s I’ve tasted, but the weak nose makes me stop at 92. The finish is quite long and goes as on the palate. It’s a blend of some of the best vintages from the Longueteau house, that consists of 70% 8yo, 20% 9yo and 10% 10yo Rhum."
