Plantation Extra Old XO 20th Anniversary

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Delicious and a lot of tropical fruit. Vanilla is coming through in this one and it sticks for a while.A super rum to sit and sip with your friends.A very good beginners rum in my mind,"
Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaican Rum

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"If you should have just one Navy strength rum in your bar, this is the one. The nose is complex with aromas of esters, fruits and spices. At the palate it’s complex and funky with flavors of esters, fruits and spices. The finish is quite long and dry."
Black Tot Rum

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"It did not impress me at all. Disappointing. Too much alcohol and anonymous aromas. It remains a pleasant after-meal rum, but uninteresting for tasting at a certain level. I expected more from a well reviewed rum...I probably failed to understand it."
Dictador 12 Years

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Had a very nice Dictador tasting this Sunday and this is the first one of the six. Despite this one being a young rum from the destillery it still manages to be very complex with a very nice nose and palate. The vanilla is perfectly matched with the rest and the finish is long and has a bit of smoke to it. All in all a very good price tag for this bottle. This bottle won gold at the International Rum Expert Panel 2010."
Plantation Isle of Fiji

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall is the nose unpleasant, palate better than expected and too short finish. The nose is fruity, spicy and smoky with additional smells of glue, alcohol and vanilla. At the palate it tastes like the nose indicated except for alcohol and glue, instead it’s very sweet."
XO - Triple Cask Blend

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Another retaste and it still performs pretty well. Price to quality is pretty good. ------------------------- This is a very nice and easy sipping rum from Mount Gay. A typical Bajan rum in nose and palate. The nose is elegant with spice, a bit of orange and charred barrel. The palate starts off with a bit of sweetness, spicy and a bit dry. There is some leather and earthyness to it as well. The finish is medium long, dry and with charred oak and ginger. Again a tiny bit of earthyness on the way out."
Plantation Original Dark

Top review from Gregor :
"Exciting rum. Aroma of honey and fruit. Taste of caramel and dried fruit. The taste is intense and slightly roasted dark tones. Price-performance ratio is definitely right. There are plenty of better ones. But for this price also a lot worse"
Flor de Caña 12 Años

Top review from Leo Tomczak:
"Tangy hazelnut liqueur with a slightly burning finish. Certainly sweetened, colored and flavored to spice up the neutral alcohol. Let's see how it performs in cola. It performs as expected in cola, although there's not much you can do wrong. Therefore a slight upgrade to 30. Nice and unobtrusive with ginger beer."
Companero Ron Panama Extra Anejo

Top review from Tim :
"Dieser Rum ist etwas besonderes! 12 Jahre im Bourbon-Fass mit einem Finish in Fässern, die mit Kakao gefüllt waren, weshalb man hier die voll Drönung Schokolade bekommt. Etwas alkoholische Schärfe leider ist auch mit dabei."
Centenario Fundación 20 Años Reserva Especial

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I think this is a very under rated rum. It's in the cheaper end yet its complexity is very convincing. A wonderful sweet, fruity and spice nose going into a complex well balanced heavy palate. The finish is long, a bit sweet and has a nice peppery sting to it. Price to quality is very good. "
Single Estate Reserve

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Interesting rum mainly because I found it an unusual Jamaican because of some of the fruity notes. As the mere novice that I am, at a blind tasting, I would have mistaken it for an agricultural. Very light toastiness. Medium-long finish with a prevalence of lychee."
Plantation 3 Stars White

Top review from Decky Hicks Doughty:
"The nose is vanilla forward. Quite a lot of esters and a subtle citrus and white chocolate note. The palate has the vanilla from the nose but it's more mineral and less fruity. Some exotic woods. The finish is quite short. Vanilla and toasted coconut mainly. Overall its a decent white rum. I'm not too much of a fan of this mixed but it's very reasonably priced and not bad neat."
Millonario Solera XO

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one as a dessert rum and it does well at that. This is a very sweet rum in my mind and you could use it for dessert actually. Again a solera blend of rums aging from 15 to 20 years."
Chairman’s Reserve The Forgotten Casks

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s distilled in Coffey and Pot stills and then first aged separately before blended and aged for three more years. Total aging is six to eleven years.I think it’s a little bit better than their classic Reserve. In the front of the mouth it doesn’t taste very much, but when you swallow it all flavors arrive and stays there trough the rather long finish."
Botran Ron Añejo Reserva 15 Years

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This rum people can only agree to disagree on. Sipping it i feel like being on an island in Greece. This is a rum on the cheaper end of the spectrum, so considering the price you get a good rum. Probably a good rum for beginners. The nose is sweet and has fruit and herbs to it with a touch of wood. The palate lacks complexity but is sweet with fruits and vanilla and a tad of burnt barrel. The finish is medium and once again the vanilla is dominant with a nice plum on the side. Price to quality is very good. "
Rare Casks 12 Years

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This one is better than the regular 12 year old and a very nice surprise. I also like the shape of the bottle. Oak from nose to finish, very fresh with fruits and spices. This is a sipper and not a mixer. Price to quality is very good."
Pure Single Jamaican Rum OWH

Top review from zabo:
"Edit Edit: batch #1 is better than batch #2 Edit: it's also really good as a mixer. Simply a classic. Good price/performance ratio. Works wonderfully to enhance both cocktails and long drinks. For me, it's the best entry-level Hampden and always will be. That's why I had to upgrade it again."
Veritas Blended Rum

Top review from Agricoler:
"Also highly recommended neat for the price - an absolute cracker. Really nice banana and green fruit on the nose. Top mixer that I always have a bottle of at home. The best in white from Jamaica and Barbados combined."
VSOP Spéciale Réserve

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"A remarkable VSOP that’s very balanced and elegant. The only one of those I’ve tasted that can compete is the 8yo from Dillon. Significant scents and flavors are prunes, grass, sugarcane, vanilla, licorice and tobacco."
HSE Black Sheriff One Shot

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a blend of three-to-four-year old rum aged in American oak bourbon barrels It’s quite young and that’s noticeable when it’s coming to the deep in the rum and the powerfulness. Overall I’m getting a little of a whisky feeling, but that’s not bad. I think it’s quite good for being so young. "
109 Jamaica Rum

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This Pot Still rum is a blend of rums that’s consisting of unaged rum as well as rum aged for up to 3 years. Overall it’s a great high esters, funky and well balanced rum with heavy flavors. The nose is fresh and fruity. At palate it’s quite heavy, funky and oaky."
El Dorado 15 (2020 Release)

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Compared to the old sweeter version this one is a step forward. Instead of the sugar covering your palate you get a more hones and slightly spicy palate. The wood is there and so are the spices and semi heavy caramel, but it is a far better version. If you get the chance then give it a try. Price to quality is very good."
Angostura 1919

Top review from Leo Tomczak:
"Amazingly good. Nose full of Trinidad. Very light taste, of course. I think it's only moderately suitable for beginners, as you'd expect something pleasantly sweet in this price segment. The TDL aromas come through well, almost herbal/tar. I am very positively surprised."
Pure Single Jamaican Rum LROK

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice rum, but too similar to hampden the younger and the 50 euro difference is a tease to the consumer. Unfortunately lately Velier is releasing overpriced bottlings where you pay for the brand and less for the quality of the product. Personally I would never buy it taking into account that the overproof can be found at 80 euros and this at 110 and the younger at 59."
Chairman‘s Reserve Original

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Most people wants to find rum with good value for money. Well, here it is. It’s very hard to find anything better for this amount of money. The only one I found is the English Harbour 5yo. It’s a blend of separately aged rums in ex-Bourbon barrels distilled from Coffey and pot stills. After blended it’s aged for six months more in oak vats. The average age of the blend is 5 years. There’s really something special with its flavours and nice afterburn. After what I have heard it’s the most consumed rum in St. Lucia. So it can’t be more karibik. This is a very good everyday rum to a very low price."
Wagemut PX-Cask

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a very light and close to diluted release. Price to quality is pretty good though. Sweet and fruity with some caramel and spices. Mild and oily on the palate and finish. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has really nice flavours."
Cinabrio Ron 12 Años

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"very nice play of orange peel, tangerine & toffee, clearly better than the old 12 cihuatan. apparently not only the design but also the recipe has been improved again here.👌🏽 overall, however, it is a bit woody and one-dimensional but nicely orangey. I find the indigo better in terms of plv."
English Harbour 5 Years

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The molasses comes from Dom. Rep. and Guyana. After distillation it’s aged in former bourbon and Tennessee whiskey barrels between five and eight years before blended and bottled. In my opinion is this an outstanding everyday rum, especially when taking the price into account."
HSE Grande Reserve XO

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"18.11.2023 Yet another retasting and I still like the profile. --------------------- Retasting at the German Rum Fest and I still like it. ----- We had a go at several HSE today and I'm a bit tipsy from it."
Ryoma Rhum Japonais

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I think this rum is one of the most misunderstood ones in the market. I've been travelling in Japan and tried a lot of their spirits and it with that in mind I scored this rum. The nose starts off with whisky and sake, yes, sake. Then the vegetal and grassy notes appear with some oak and caramel. The palate is light yet complex with sake and Agricole notes. Later you have sake and the vegetal notes mixed with smoke and oak. The finish is medium long with sake and vegetal notes to it. The price is high for such a young rum, but nothing from Japan is cheap. "
XO Grande Réserve

Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"A balanced and very well-balanced rhum with finesse and a very nice interplay of fruitiness and wood spice. The price is also fine for me. I am very positively surprised that the fruity notes make it to the palate so beautifully."
White Overproof

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"One of the epic rum mixers, that was used by Victor Bergeron when he created Mai Tai back in 1944. The nose is mostly fruity and spicy. At the palate the fruitiness dominates with flavors of citrus, banana and pineapple. The finish has a certain sweetness and a long spiciness."
Clairin Communal Blend des Quatres Communes

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice white rum! Great to drink mixed and neat. Price under 30 euros make it a great choice! Less aggresive than the other clairins it is probably the most lovable along with Sajous."
Arcane Extraroma Grand Amber

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Much too sweet for me and nothing I can recommend. Aromas of caramel, vanilla and spices is recognizable. At the palate it’s very sweet with flavors of fruits, banana, ginger, caramel and vanilla together with a certain roundness."
Eclipse

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is one of the rums I have probably had the most of over time. A rum developed in 1911 and used in many mixers, which is where i learned about it in my teens way back. Not a super good sipper when you're used to the better Barbadian rums, but a very good choice in mixers. Have many memories both good and bad about this rum 🤣 Many a hangover have been traced back to this particular rum."
Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall I think that all of it are there, but everything’s to weak. The nose fruity and round with aromas of Raisins, vanilla, honey and tobacco. At the palate and during the medium long finish it’s fruity, spicy and sweet with flavors of vanilla, honey, raisins, tobacco, oak and caramel."
Zafra Master Reserve 21

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A wonderful balanced nose a bit woody with vanilla. Leave it for 15 minutes and the flavours come running at you even without putting your nose to the glass. The palate shows a well rounded full body rum with an extremely long finish. Leaving the glass after you finish will reveal a wonderful woody/spice nose."
Malteco 10 Years - Añejo Suave

Top review from Rumpalumpa:
"I really like Panama Rum and its typical roasted flavour. It is very present in this Rum, which is also rather sweet. Those flavors are actually even much stronger here than in the 15 yo, which is more fruity and smooth though. Value for money is amazing, also great for cocktails."
Rum-Bar White Overproof

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This is a pure pot stills rum consisting of a blend of WPEL, WPL and WPE rum from the Worthy Park distillery. The finish is just medium long and shorter than for the other white Jamaican Overproof’s. Overall it’s also the most pungent of the big Jamaican three."
Kaniché Double Wood XO

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is not your typical Barbadian rum because some of the flavours you usually associate with Barbados are missing. A wonderful rum none the less especially if you look at the price. The bottle comes in a nice wooden box with a sliding front which is pretty fancy for a rum in this price range. The nose is sweet and oaky transferring into a soft well rounded palate that has a bit of cognac to it. Price to quality is very good. "
Plein Soleil

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirits. Retasting this and I still thing this is a very good rum at the price tag. ------------------- This one was a huge surprise so I'll have to get a few for my tastings. Price to quality is very good and a must try for most. Try to add a piece of lime zest and the rum just comes to life. We tried a new unfinished version that was over 70% and it was even better. That one I'd be interested in as well 😂"
Select Jamaica Rum

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall an OK Jamaican rum but that lacks the expected funkiness, probably because of the low ABV. I tasted it at the 1423 stand during the Stockholm Beer & Spirits Fair 2023. This Jamaican rum is a blend of copper pot distilled molasses based rums that have been aged between 4 and 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels."
Dos Maderas Seleccion

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"What bothers me about this rum is the sweetness which dominates far too much. I'd say the 5+5 is better in comparison. The nose is smoky sherry with barrel to it. The palate is sweet, too sweet in my mind, a bit dry with fruit and spices. The finish is rather short with sticky sweetness and barrel topped with a bot of licorice. Too sweet for me."
Millonario 10 Anniversario Reserva

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s much too sweet for my taste and without the complexity and balance that my favorites among the sweet Spanish styled have. The nose is dominated by vanilla and sugar as it is at the palate together with toffee."
Hearts Collection - 2002

Top review from Oliver:
"On the nose a great combination of fruits (cherry, apples, mango), citrus and sweet notes (caramel, vanilla). Quite dry on the palate with red fruits (cherries again) and spicy wood notes. Little esters, but a pronounced spiciness and creaminess. Great Jamaican rum with little funk but power."
Oaxaca

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"This rum has turned my drinking behavior upside down. Before that, I drank wine almost exclusively. This daiquiri opened up a new world for me. "Wild fermentation, freshcut grass" was on the menu at Gone Away Bar (RIP😪).It's mostly the fermented, savory, salty vegetal flavors that set this Cane Juice rum apart from the French agricoles. The nose is marked by savory antipasti: olives, artichokes, hot peppers. In addition, grass and tobacco. Fruit is there too: gooseberry and lime, but quite a bit behind. In the daiquiri it becomes a bit fruitier and fresher. The savory notes, however, remain and you have to like them. I like them.In the mouth it is soft but still quite unusual: olives, olives, olives. Brine, ginger with green peppers. Also the often described mezcal note.In the finish more olive, artichokes and brine.Pure is honestly too crass for me, but in the daiquiri he is gigantic."
HSE VSOP - Port Cask Finish

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bought this bottle for over a year ago from Catawiki. Rhum HSE is produced at the Le Simon distillery in Martinique. It’s distilled in a Creole column and then aged for more than 3 years in American oak barrels whereafter it’s aged for more than 8 months in casks previously used for Port wine. Overall one of the best port cask finished rums I’ve tasted."
Hors d’Âge Port Cask Finish

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a very good Port Cask Finished Agricole that I tasted at the Sweden (Stockholm) Rumfest 2024. It has first been aged for at least 8 years whereafter it’s finished during 11 months in former Port Casks. At nose is oak, vanilla, chocolate and ripe fruits recognizable. In mouth and at the palate is flavors of oak, vanilla and chocolate detectable together with notes of port, hazelnut, dried fruits and cocoa. During the rather long finish is beside the above, notes of jasmine, coffee and plum found."
Fruits des Pluies

Top review from Vincent D:
"Tasted initially at Rhum Fest 2023. Fresher and more lemony than the bottle from the other parcel. Very pleasant. Tasted again in the quiet and found it to be a very successful rum. A surprising sweetness accompanies a well-marked cane with a strong lemon note. Very fresh. A great success."
Providence Haitian Rum Blanc „First drops“

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Good agricultural rum. Compared to its Haitian brethren this rum is less intense and therefore lends itself very well to blending. Very good to taste as well, but a bit below compared to the clairins.Delicate aromas of sugarcane and olives/vegetable."
English Harbour Port Cask Finish (Batch 002)

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The tasted one is from batch 002. Have also a bottle from batch 001, but haven’t tasted it yet. My guide during my visit at the distillery told me that they’re most pleased with the Port Cask Finish, of the three, in batch 002. I’ll drink to that! It has a fantastic nose and the taste is very distinct with great flavors and a very pleasant finish."
Brut de Fût

Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the WLP and in Cologne. A warm nose with walnuts, Cementit, old hemp rope and, above all, rapeseed flowers. A fairly lively attack on the palate, with leather, glue and wood, followed by fruit, yellow fruit and apple. A long, elegant finish. A fine rum, all elegance except on the attack."
VSOP Réserve Spéciale

Top review from Galli33:
"The first impression immediately after filling the glass was wow some cool solvent notes paired with the typical agricole notes. Unfortunately, they disappear quickly. What remains is a thin, soft agricole! On the palate the thin(diluted) feeling conitues… The finish is quite short!"
Master Select 1703

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"I rated the precursor, the “Old Cask 1703”, quite low, probably because it was my first contact with English styled rum. Now I appreciate this rum a lot and I will probably upgrade my rating of the “Old Cask 1703” if I make a retest."
Ron Cristóbal Niña

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This rum is produced by Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos and the brand is owned by the Danish company 1423 Worldclass Spirits. If I should like a sweet rum it must be more complex and be bottled at an higher ABV to balance the sweetness. Overall it’s a very kind but dull rum in my opinion."
Angostura 1787

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting and it did lose some points 😊 ------- This one concludes this week's tastings. Angostura has done it again. Another great rum and this one is a tad better than their 12 year old. This one was blended by John George's and he did a really good job. After blending it matured for 15 years in oak and you can taste that oak. A fruity well balanced rum with a long and full bodied finish."
Patridom Seleccion Exclusiva

Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"Rebranded by Ron Esclavo, this juice is intended to be gentle and simplistic enough to appeal to as many people as possible. On the nose, scents of raisin and dried fruit mingle with oak, caramel, sweet vanilla spices and nuts. It's enticing enough for someone just discovering it, but bland enough for a finer nose. On the palate, the chocolate comes through with coffee, caramel, spices and raisin. It's mellow, sweet, without much complexity, just an easy-drinking candy for aperitifs. No need to wonder whether the alcohol is well integrated here. The finish is surprisingly longer than expected, but the aromas remain simple and identical to those described: sugar, coffee, caramel, raisins, chocolate, vanilla and light oak. A small rum for small occasions."
Great House (Distillery Edition 2024)

Top review from zabo:
"Freshly opened and tasted both neat and as a CubaLibre. Personally, I don't find it one hundred percent convincing neat, as it's a little too aggressive on the palate. Perhaps it should have breathed longer. But it delivers all the better in CubaLibre. I'll probably have to give it more time again."
Rum Artesanal Burke‘s Seamaster Blended Rum

Top review from Oliver:
"Harmonious blend from Barbados (main component) and Jamaica. Typical Foursquare associations on the nose with a few tropical fruits. On the palate, the Jamaican component comes out a little more. A great blend for relaxed enjoyment. However, the real strength lies in high-quality drinks."
Zaya Rum Gran Reserva

Top review from Timo Groeger:
"This rum really knows how to convince. Beautiful and above all pleasant nose consisting of coffee and chocolate. Then really fun on the palate. Goes from dark chocolate and coffee to vanilla and nuts. And above all, not too sweet. Delicious."
Art of Rum by Yann le Gall

Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the Rhum Fest in 2024 and at the Masterclass for RumX 2024. A nose that vacillates between dark, woody, spicy, very lightly tarred and fruity (pear) and vegetal. The freshness is perhaps a little lacking. The palate is fruity with spices, wood and less vegetal than on the nose. The finish is rather short on yellow fruit and citrus. Spices and a hint of tar at the very end. The empty glass is beautiful."
Rhum vieux agricole XO

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a great Rhum, but it don’t reaches the level of the precursor, the XO Hors d’Age Grenadier. The nose is aromatic and fruity with aromas of vanilla. At the palate it’s complex, round, sweet, woody and spicy with flavors of vanilla and cinnamon."
El Dorado 21 (2020 Release)

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I love that they have reduced the sugar content to near zero. This has improved the quality of this rum a lot. Nice and fruity with spices and a warm palate. Draws nice curtains and the empty glass is really nice."
Companero Ron Gran Reserva

Top review from Tim :
"Rather weak, hardly any flavors present, especially in the mouth and aftertaste. The base spirit was probably already not good, but the rum was watered down too much, but still has a rather alcoholic sharpness."
Carúpano Reserva 12 Exclusiva

Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Well, I don't know what to say about this. At first you could just taste the alcohol. Over time, the sweet chocolatey taste came out. Nevertheless, the alcohol dominates. Definitely quite good with cola."
English Harbour Reserve 10 Years

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The molasses is bought from Dom.Rep. and Guyana. After distillation it’s aged in former bourbon barrels of American oak, which are charred, for between 10 and 25 years. To enhance the oak taste is a handful of oak chips added to each barrel. In my opinion is it a great rum that overall is very dry and oaky."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 16 Treasure Cask GMG

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
Rum Artesanal Jamaica Rum EMB

Top review from DomM:
"Well… obviously I seem to like it a lot more than most people… 🤔😅 Here is my „trick“: pour a glas -> forget about it -> skype with a friend for c. 2h -> remember the Rum -> alcohol feels reasonably integrated 🤷🏻♂️😅 Intense woodnotes in combination with herbs somewhat remind me of (much older) KFMs - again I actually like this one."
Dos Maderas Luxus Double Crianza

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a step up from the 5+5 and in a good way. More complexity and a wonderful nose after resting for 15 minutes. There is something tropical about this nice rum. The nose sets off with vanilla and caramel followed by barrel and some orange. The palate is nicely balanced between the proof and spices/oak/barrel. Almond, chocolate and molasses follow and sweet, spice and sherry tops it off. The finish is medium long, warm and some spices."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 32 C<>H

Top review from cigares :
"RumX Awards 2023 and re-tasted 6 months later. Despite its age, the esters are very present without dominating. Buttery, nicely acidic, lemony, overripe banana, grilled bacon and yellow fruit make up a nose that remains balanced despite its complexity. The attack is lively and explosive, with fat (butter) tempering the fire and fruit filling the mouth. Yellow fruit (pear and apple) and young wood. The finish is long, elegant and fresh. No flaws here, everything is clean and precise. The wood is perfectly integrated. The fruit remains right to the end. In the empty glass, you discover an unprecedented sweetness, with the wood clearly perceptible. The favorite rum of this top RumX selection."
HSE Ragtime

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall an tasty and smooth Agricole. It’s a selection of agricole rums aged in new 200 liters American oak casks for 12 to 24 months. HSE is made at the distillery Le Simon which is the same distillery that produces Clement and A1710. From the distillery it’s said: “This rum will delight both in a Ti-Punch as well as in cocktails.”, but I’ve tested it neat and thinks it works well that way."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 43 Deadset Blend

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Oh, I can't even taste a country, let alone a distillery, it's not sophisticated, but simply fantastically balanced and sips away, that's how it should be!"
Black Barrel Double Casks Blend

Top review from Rumpalumpa:
"I really like this Mount Gay because it tastes great but is also very affordable, so you can mix a cocktail with it from time to time. The ageing in freshly distilled barrels is very clear, so it is very reminiscent of bourbon."
Cuvée de la Montagne - Rhum Blanc Agricole

Top review from Rowald Sweet Empire:
"Very balanced classic agricole. Instantly likable in the nose. Pretty sweet and velvety in taste. Mineral. Some vegetal vs freshness. Grassy. Very easy in lots of aspects. But good easy. This is a very good spirit."
Don Q Reserva Añejo 7 Años

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"Don Q makes light, very light rum. Who expects flavor bombs is wrong here, neither full-bodied rum nor super heavy (and sweetened) wood can be found here. The star is the distillate, which comes elegant and delicate. Tasted neat, aromas of dried yellow fruits and wood show up, in the mouth a champagne-like quality is added, a touch of oleo saccharum combines with pear and the yellow fruits to create a wonderful delicate creaminess. The 40% unfortunately negates this somewhat. The finish is again a bit more tart and woody, delicate tannins and en touch of tobacco complete the picture. This is super crafted, pure but still very unspectacular. This rum is a mixer, but a mixer with star qualities. As a component in tiki drinks, it remains far in the background, where it belongs. It makes a super mojito, to which the light wood gives a great depth. The Old Cuban could become the signature drink, it combines perfectly with mint and champagne (or other brut sparkling wine). That's where it really takes off. If you're looking for a dry Spanish mixer that puts the distillate front and center, this is it. I'm a fan (neat: 70/cocktail:86): 78"
Select Casks

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a nice, smooth, subtle and complex Agricole from nose via palate to the medium long finish. The nose have recognizable aromas of spices, vanilla, oak and fruits. At the palate and during the medium long finish the aromas comes back as flavors."
La Digue Récolte

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This one was a huge surprise and the price to quality is very good. The nose is very fresh and floral with fruits, sugarcane and a light medicinal note. A true Agricole nose and not for beginners in my mind. The palate is velvety and well balanced. Again very fresh and floral with fruits, anise, sugarcane and a touch of grass. The finish is medium to long with sugarcane and vegetal notes and a hint of medicinal notes."
RUM

Top review from Vincent D:
"A pleasant discovery. A pastry profile that makes it easy to drink. Not insanely complex, but pleasant. Edit: tested a second time and I can confirm that for 49€, it's great value for money. Very pleasant. It also appealed to the uninitiated. Edit: I'm raising my rating because the value for money is still very good. The bourbon brings a nice sweetness. It's easy enough to drink without being devoid of interest."
HSE Blanc

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"In summary it’s a rustic, dry, powerful, intense and balanced Agricole Blanc. I’ve also tested it in a Ti Punch and it was great. The nose is fruity, spicy and floral. On the palate it’s a little bit rustic and the aromas from the nose just explodes in the mouth."
Belize

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Blind tasting 01.02.2024, 1st rum Nose: spicy at first, then sweeter and sweeter, Jamaica? Palate: no, not Jamaica, very light, but not typical Jamaican fruity-earthy; you can drink it, but you don't have to Resolution: Belize? I would never have guessed that. Definitely a good starter."
Cuvée des Alizés

Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"A very smooth white agricultural rum. A lovely agricultural freshness perfumes the nostrils, with earthy, herbaceous and vegetal notes, accompanied by citrus fruits (lemon) that round out the angles. A hint of salt underscores the subtlety of the nose. The attack on the palate is ample, supple and pleasant. Citrus and dried fruit dominate the palate, leaving sugarcane and its vegetal notes more in the background. Round, fresh and very well structured. The finish, of decent length, is surprisingly warm, dry and slightly spicy. Vegetal and earthy flavors come back to the fore, in the face of citrus. A very fine cuvée that will delight all Ti Punch lovers."
Rum Artesanal Caribbean Island Blend

Top review from Oliver:
"Very nice, relaxed blend at an unbeatable price. Can also easily keep up with high-quality blends! Especially for beginners who want to gain first experience with (almost) unsweetened rums an absolute recommendation!"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 40 Australia

Top review from Oliver:
"Wow, this is really fun. Plenty of power in the nose and on the palate - without being too strenuous. There's a pleasant fruit brandy/grappa note on the palate that I've never had in a rum before. Exciting bottling!"
El Dorado The Last Casks

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Lovechild from 2010 Moneymusk MBS & 2006 Foursquare! Super mild & relaxed. Lots of honey, light fresh herbs like lemon verbena and some milk chocolate, as well as kumquat jam and toasted coconut chips. Could be a little more powerful but on the whole it is very tasty and elegant!"

"Finally got to sample the other half of this package. Lovely rum which needs to rest 20-30 minutes to get the full package off flavours Lightly dry and a slight bitterness with some fruits and chocolate. The glass the day after is really nice on the nose. "
HSE Kilchoman Single Cask Finish

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"HSE Kilchoman finish is a special mix from two great regions, Martinique and Islay. The rum was aged in the tropics for 6 years and then finished for 4 months in whisky barrels. It was distilled in November 2013 and bottled in February 2020 in just 4100 bottles. Overall a quite elegant rum that must be perfect for people loving whisky that wa"

"10.02.2024 tasting event at the Nobilis Warehouse, Haderslev. Retasting and I really love the overall profile. ----------------------- #4232 03.09.2023 this was a nice blind tasting where I saw the black Glencairn tasting glasses for the first time. This is a great release. Intense yet extremely well balanced once rested. ABV and wood are amazingly well integrated. Medium fruity with nice spices and a warm oily palate. Draws really nice and slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has light mint and caramel."
El Dorado The Last Casks (Gold)

Top review from Joachim Guger:
"Beautiful varnish and polish notes, balanced demerara profile. Plenty of caramel. Warm and powerful as only tropical maturation can produce. Very spicy, lots of caramel in the mouth. Furry finish. Very good Demerara sipper, simply too simple to be awarded higher honors. This is how one imagines ED 12 at cask strength. And therefore far too expensive."
Réserve Spéciale Rhum Vieux Agricole

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"First off the price matches what you get. A medium fruity rum with a warm/spicy touch on the palate. I like the light nutty notes and the empty glass reveals even stronger notes of chocolate and wood."
HSE Rhum Agricole Extra Vieux (La Confrérie du Rhum)

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Great Agricole! Not so much on the grassy side, but rather on the woody side, almost earthy and deep. Alcohol very well integrated. Despite the almost unmanageable number of different bottlings, HSE simply has it!"
HSE Rozelieures Single Malt Finish

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This Agricole has been finished for 8-12 months in former Whisky barrels and that taste dominates totally in nose and palate. It’s first during the medium long finish that it tastes more like Rhum. Probably a great Rhum for Whisky lovers that want to look into the fantastic world of Agricoles."
Angostura Tribute Distiller‘s Cut

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Very pleasantly surprised! I've actually never had an Angostura in a glass before, so it was the best idea to taste this rum blind first. When I smelled it, my first association was that it must be a kind of TiPunch, with a very present, inviting citrus note. On the palate, it was a pleasantly spicy rum, not necessarily fruity. It wasn't until I could taste a lot of mint towards the end that I was relatively certain that it must be a TDL, one of the later ones (2008-2010). All right, very close - or maybe not. 😉 But that doesn't detract from my assessment at all: what a great rum with only 44.7%! 😋"
English Harbour Coeur de Savalle

Top review from Jakob:
"As expected, the alcohol is quite recognizable, but next to it show some quite appealing notes of especially heavy sweetness of caramel, vanilla and dried fruit. Has subtle hints of sherry, overall quite pleasant to title. Great that one has dared a bottling with this strength."
Subprime Cuvée

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This rum is really nice and I just had to go for seconds. The nose is well balanced with a mixture of grass, vanilla, fruits and a mixture of wood. The palate is balanced and complex with spices, fruit and flowery/Agricole touch to it. Chocolate and wood finishes the experience. The finish is medium long primarily cinnamon and tobacco with a bit of candy and grass to it. "
El Dorado Blended In The Barrel PM ICBU

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"I personally like it best from the blended in the barrel range. It has just the right alcohol content and brings a nice spiciness of herbal and sweet spicy notes!🙏 Definitely the one I would recommend the most."
Rumclub Private Selection Triangulation

Top review from Dr.Django:
"The Rum Club from Berlin always delivers. This is also the case here. I can clearly taste TDL and some funk from Jamaica here. When I try to taste Reunion, it reminds me of some CDI Savanna Traditionell representatives. The mouthfeel is very pleasant and surprisingly aromatic, with a slight bitterness. The finish is relatively short. Overall a little watery for my palate. I would definitely recommend this rum to any newcomer."

"I first tried at the GRF and i really enjoyed it, so I took one bottle home 😬😎 When I got home, I tried it again at my leisure and gave it more time to open up. The result is a top rum in which the 68% and the barrel is very well integrated. 👍🏻👌🏻"

Top review from Thunderbird:

"This one became a favorite with my friends once I made a daiquiri with it. El Dorado 5 year old Fresh lime juice Maple syrup Mix rate 2/1/1 1 Banana 1 Fresh vanilla bean Scrape out the vanilla bean and put everything into a blender with ice cubes. If you have a high ABV demerara you can add one part to add a kick to it. "

"#4870 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, faint wood, fruity, light citrus, spice, light roasted, light pineapple, faint floral, ester. Palate Warm, round, balanced, faint wood, light roasted, light citrus, light banana, spice, naturally sweet, medium dry. Finish Medium long, fresh, round, fruity, light citrus, faint chocolate, medium dry, faint smoke, ester. This one is slightly better than the lower ABV release and it shows how flavours change when you add water."

"Easy sipping dorado blend. I am positively surprised. Very drinkable. Could just have a little more steam! 🤷🏼♂️ The price-performance ratio could be better, but it's definitely tasty. Slight points deducted for the bitterness in the finish."

Top review from Dr.Django:
"Eie Eckdaten lesen sich aufregend und machen einen direkt sehr neugierig. Der Rum selbst ist weniger aufregend. Vanille, helle Früchte, Kokos. Immerhin dürfen wir hier die Rumpremiere eines Fiji 2006 verkosten."
