Top review from Émile Shevek:
Piacevole. Nel bicchiere vuoto melassa, cacao e caffè"

"I usually don't really like these sugared Spanish-style rums and I even doubt that the age statements of the Malteco rum-line can be trusted but the 'vintages' from them are very, very tasty and I like them a lot. Update: Now too thin for me, good daily sipper though."

"Also got this one today and I decided to let it rest for 15 minutes before having a sip. Compared to the first release in 2016, this one is very different. Less sweet and definitely goes well with a cigar from Cuba. Aged in very old barrels, some may say the wood dominates, but I think the overall taste is worthy of a big rum. The price tag is a bit high but it matches the rarety and quality. I have decided to order the 2018, 2019 and the recently released 2020 as well :-) "

"Just had another go at this rum and knowing now, that it needs to rest for around 30 minutes, it scored better this time. A very rich and full bodied rum with a nice long strong finish. There is a nice vanilla and molasses hint to it throughout and the price definitely matches the quality. Remember to rest it to get the full experience. "

"06.11.2021 Another visit to "Den Danske Rom & Whiskyfestival and once again with special access and many very drunk people both days. Notes. Very nice release. Fruity profile with good ABV integration. The palate is fresh, dry and oily with fruit and a light touch of leather. The finish is medium to long with a light vegetal note."

"1st Caroni and 1st tasting on RumX. Very complex, needed few drops of water to reduce intensity and definitely need a few more tries to pick out all the flavours. I feel rating this rum on a 1-100 is unfair by itself but I’ll learn my own way of giving a score with more reviews. Definitely not put off by the Caroni HTR and looking to delve more into this world. Bring it on…!"

"Many think this is a version of the traditional Zacapa XO, but it's actually been stored for two additional years in French cognac casks. A super smooth rum that literally explodes in your mouth. "

"A very nice and well balanced release. Would have loved a higher ABV though. Fruity with nice roasted wood notes. Oily and draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has very nice flavours and reveals light leather and coffee."

"I have recently started buying Samaroli because I like what the whisky barrels do to their rums. This one is no exception as their eis a clearly defined whisky and malt note to it. Slightly dry and lightly bitter with vanilla. I'd say this one is for a serious rum drinker like me :-) "

"This is a very rare bottle as only a limited number are released every year. Even though the ABV is low, the overall profile is very smooth and well balanced. Fruity with light wood and nuts. Love the velvety feel on the palate and the caramel in the profile. Wonder what barriers it would have broken at an ABV of 50+ % Price to quality is a bit off 😊"

Hidden pearl!"

"Ist mal was ganz anderes.
