"This rum is priced at 500+ Euro, but is it worth the money? In my opinion, most definitely. The nose comes at you once you pour it, candied fruits, vanilla and a bit of earthiness. The barrel has also left notes of bourbon and overall a very well balanced nose. The palate is complex and like velvet, yum. Fruits, caramel and chocolate with wood and vanilla trailing. In the end a hint of mocha and tobacco. The finish is long and velvety with wood, fruits, vanilla and a hint of tobacco. A very good rum worth the price tag."

"On the nose I have especially yellow fruit / mango, mint and caramel. On the palate passion fruit, toasty charred notes and menthol. The 64.3% is well integrated. Again, an excellent TDL from the early 2000s, but the Swell 2000 or the Nobilis 2001 score a bit higher."

"#4148 LMDW picked a nice cask here. The price is a bit high but overall OK I think. A well balanced rum once rested for a good while. Nice dried fruits mixed with spices and some caramel. I like the medicinal note and licorice in the profile because it somehow freshens it up. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some smoke and chocolate to it."

"Since @crazyforgoodbooze hooked me on Mauritius at the 11th GRF, I've been trying to get to know that country's rums better. With this one, I like the expressive currant note on the palate. A really pleasant rum, but with an unremarkable nose and short finish that can't match Perola's Grays (RX12865) from the same year. Update 2023-07-02: I must have had a bad day at the first tasting, only 82 points just doesn't do the rum justice. Now, at the second tasting, it has a super long, fruity-woody finish. The impressive red rum now gets a well-deserved 86 points. Pretty good PLV for a single cask and still available, wonderful."

"Got a sample of this one yesterday and I placed an order for a bottle right away. A complex and well balanced release with fruity notes and lovely spices. The wood and dried fruits are balanced very well with the flavours of brown sugar. I can only recommend this rum if you like Longueteau. Price to quality is very good in my mind."

"Bought this Rhum Neisson Blanc from Catawiki a few months ago. The distillery is owned by the Neisson family since its foundation in 1932. They uses fresh sugar cane juice from locally grown cane. After a quite long fermentation it’s distilled in a French Savalle column still installed 1938. Overall a great Agricole Blanc that’s very good neat, but a little weak in a Ti Punch."

"Retasting this one I admit that I would really have loved this rum to have a higher ABV because I think it would have greatly benefitted the rum. The nose is very fruity with burnt sugar and some grass to it (lile in a Jamaican rum). The palate is wonderful and has a bite on top of the fruity/spicy note. A lot of nice oak but not too much. The finish is long and slightly bitter with oak and ginger."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Stunning. Rich in aroma and on the palate there is a pronounced peatiness wrapped in a fruity and olive spirit. Long finish. I am being surprised by some white rums that are fruity, but with a strong character rich in nuances thanks to good fermentations. Keeping in mind the value for money this rum is definitely worth considering. I have often spent three times as much for mediocre rums. This distillery is the only one in the world that grinds with a mill that is still working with water. Hand-harvested cane and distillation fire fed with the remains of the cane. Fermentation with native yeasts. Old-fashioned rum."

"The other day I picked up a shipment of rum and I have now surpassed 200 rums in my collection. This particular rum i am enjoying right now and its a really nice and typical rum from Mauritius. Fruity spice nose going onto a wonderful fruity palate with vanilla and a hint of coffee. The oldest rum in this blend is from 1969 (10% of the blend) and it gives a nice depth to the final blend. The proof has been very well integrated with the fruit and spices. Price to quality is very good though it can be hard to get a bottle. "

"This is an exceptional Rhum from Saint James. It’s a blend of the vintages of 1998, 2000 and 2003 all of them aged for over 12 years in small bourbon casks. I can really recommend it, even though the average price is a little high at around €180."

"#4198 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. Not only is it a good sipper, but I think it'll perform a outstanding in a mixer. Very fresh profile with fruit, especially the citrus is nice. Warm and oily palate with a medium finish."

"Extremely pleasing navy blend without flaws but also without real highlights. Aromatic predominantly with the Guyana and Barbados component. Due to the slight sweetness relaxed drinkable."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice rum, but a little under compared to batch1. The presence of a slight solvent note I liked less and it is less intense. However, we are talking about finesse and personal taste. We are dealing with a rum that I would drink all the time! I do not understand all these new versions of Hampden Velier that I find little different from each other and especially pòco justified in terms of value for money. Velier lately is focusing too much on collectors with the result of making the bottles unobtainable already upon release and overpriced."

Top review from TheRhumhoe:

"Classic Belize: Pronounced pleasing and quaffable, but the rum is somewhat lacking in aromatic complexity. In addition to the sweetness of vanilla, toffee, chocolate still get a few hints of cappuccino and peanuts and leicjte spiciness in the taste spectrum. Very good alcohol integration."

Top review from Dom M:
"Nose akin to other 2007s with tropical fruits, green apples adding menthol with some time in the glas. Very nice. Very distinct MM on the palate as well. I do miss some complexity, however. Nose was more promising than the delivery you get from sipping. All in all a very solid bottling, but not top of the range MM(W) in my book."

"Got this 5cl sample in my second batch from Rum Ratings Tasting Club and participated in the virtual tasting yesterday. The Abuelo XII Two Oaks is a 12yo rum stored in two different types of oak barrels. First on traditional Tennessee whiskey / bourbon casks during 11 years, and then a final storage on deep-fried casks of new American white oak. It’s produced from both molasses and sugar cane juice by Varela Hermanos. The sugar content is 24 gpl, so it’s sweet but not extremely sweet."
RX5865
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This Saint James at ABV 60% made from cane juice is not distilled in an column still as most of their produced rum, instead it’s double distilled in copper pot stills. So because of that it’s an Agricole without being an AOC rum. It makes a good Ti Punch."

"Got a sample of this in my second batch from Rum Ratings Tasting Club and participated in the virtual tasting yesterday. The Abuelo XV Oloroso is 15 years old and is first matured in American oak casks to be finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. Overall it’s very sweet, natural or not, read somewhere that a hydrometer test gave 44 gpl. The finish is medium long. "

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a triple distilled pure pot stills HLCF rum which gives an ester level of 500-600. The finish is rather long and tastes about the same as on the palate. I think it’s the best of the three big white Overproof’s from Jamaica, it’s funky, potent, complex and powerful without being too pungent."

Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"A very different rum from its Profil 105 counterpart. Much more focused on spices and grilled and burnt notes, this rum shows more sweetness both in the nose and in the mouth, with slightly spicy pastry notes. If the woodiness remains present, the fruits are on the other hand more discreet. The finish is long but does not reveal new aromas. This Neisson is slightly inferior to the Profile 105."

"This one was a huge surprise for me. I like to try new things and this one was new. A light yet really well made rum with a really good price tag. Fresh and floral with light fruit. The spices and light wood fits really well with the rest and I like the licorice on the profile."

"A remarkably rich Vietnamese rum. The nose is intensely floral, grassy and earthy, with tropical fruit, citrus and lychee in abundance. Sugar cane is also perceptible in this bouquet. On the palate, peppery and spicy notes form an ensemble that is both dry and powerful, fresh and delicious, intense and flavorful. The finish is long and intoxicating. A gustatory pleasure and a wonderful discovery of Vietnamese terroir combined with French savoir-faire."

Top review from Tim :
