"This is a pretty sweet rum but the balance between the elements is pretty good. Would have liked a higher ABV because I think it would have benefitted this rum. The empty glass has really nice flavours."

"Reminiscent of a T.D.L with some REV through the mint/black tea note. Adds a great and heavy barrel influence due to the tropical aging. After some time grapefruit, herbs and some glue come in. The alcohol is very well integrated. An almost endless finish. Lots to discover here. Great. My #2 from the Hearts Collection!"

"Typical Fourquare profile at a high level.Strong on caramel this time, little tropical fruit and little wood ripeness. Very nice and fine spice. Not too lush.A few drops of water do not hurt. For me one of the better FS, a good high-end sipper, but novel is something else."

"On the nose a great combination of fruits (cherry, apples, mango), citrus and sweet notes (caramel, vanilla). Quite dry on the palate with red fruits (cherries again) and spicy wood notes. Little esters, but a pronounced spiciness and creaminess. Great Jamaican rum with little funk but power."

"This is yet another release of the 1997 Caroni and it has just gotten better with even more aging. A nice Trinidad and Tobago blend that shines beside the other 1997 releases. You may want to add a drop or two of water if you think it bites too much or you just leave it to rest for 15-30 minutes. A wonderful nose transferring into a full bodied complex rum with a long warm finish. "

"Had a retaste and this time I had the right cigar to go with it and wow what a difference, this is truly a mix well worth a try even though the cigar is slightly expensive and hard to get. Just decided to crack open this wonderful bottle and I regret not having a Cohiba Piramides to go with it. I know it was made to match the Cohiba Siglo VI, but that is too heavy a cigar for me :-) A cooperation between master blender Asbel Morales and cigar sommelier Fernando Fernández and they made something out of this world. A wonderful deep and elegant masterpiece that has a long, warm and elegant balanced finish. A rum worthy of the price tag and then some!"

"I'm preparing for an exclusive tasting for some of my colleagues and I just got this rum for testing and it will stay on my collection. A very unique set of flavours and I think it's a good bottle for first timers in Agricole. The price is a bit high compared to what you get. "

"This nice sipper has to rest for a while before nosing or you'll get a punch of alcoholic blast. The nose is wonderfully smooth even velvety I'd say. Smoky wood and fruity with toffee and spices. The palate is complex and very well balanced with smoky oak and spices and a hint of the cognac cask it was finished in. The finish is long and sweet with spices and coffee and once again a hint of the cognac cask."

"Though the ABV is relatively low they have still managed to put a lot of flavour into this release. I'd say the nose is light and elegant at the same time. Good balance between the elements in the profile. Can't stop wondering what it would have turned out at a higher ABV."

"A bit rough still with the alcohol, otherwise reasonably inconspicuous. Caramel, vanilla, wood, some coffee and dark chocolate, plus spices - but not much more. Nice, nothing more. The fact remains: I'm not really warming up to the Transcontinental line."

"Der Geruch ist lecker, nicht komplex, aber sehr gefällig. Kokosnuss, Ananas, etwas Banane und viel Toffee und Sirup. Gewürze, Holz eher schwach. Im Mund setzt sich der Geruch fort mit vielen süßen und fruchtigen Noten. Trotzdem auch ein warmes Gefühl. Könnte ein gesüßter Mix aus niedrig-Ester Jamaica, Barbados und Dom Rep sein?!"

Top review from Frank:
"This one is actually quite special from Artesano. Not diluted and no wine barrel or anything. No, cask strength and Virgin Oak, then 11 years. Was reason enough to take this bottle on the 10th GRF.Nose: initially strong and somewhat pungent alcohol. Behind that, though, nice smoky woody spicy and creamy fruity aromas. On the one hand there is light tobacco with vanilla on the other creamy taffy with coconut milk, lemon and apple. A resinous freshness with a deep nasal pull. 80Palate: pleasantly powerful. Initially bitter-salty and woody-spicy. Red pepper with vanilla, almost some umami. Then goes towards pecan, has a tart sweetness, like currant and orange peel and closes with blackberry. Back nutty with light umami and wood. 82Must feel your way, then good."

"This is a vanilla bomb! If you like the taste of vanilla, you would like this rum. It is fairly smooth drinking and would probably go well over ice. It definitely tastes like they add vanilla flavoring, in my opinion. Very sweet and not terribly complex."

"I think this one will raise a stir during tasting. I do like Jamaican rums thus the high score.Leave to rest for at least 15 minutes in order to release all the flavours.Molasses and fruits get to your nose first, then comes the funk and woody vanilla and some varnish. The palate is nice and strong. Burnt wood with fruit, chocolate and caramel in the front. Then you get hit by subtle tobacco, mint and licorice. The finish is long and stays with you for a long while. Charred wood with currants and wonderful chocolate."

"This is a retasting and I'll leave the old comment and change the points 😊 This is a malt finish og their normal 25 and you definitely get the barrel finish. The nose is sharp in the beginning so leave if for 15 minutes ad you get rewarded with fruits, vanilla and caramel. There is a bit of earthiness about it. The palate is mild and well rounded with a lot of tropical fruits, berries and grapes topped with vanilla and oak. The finish is medium to long with a sweet stickiness followed by fruit, cocoa and caramel."

"This is an OK rum for sipping and also a good rum for beginners. The nose has orange and maple whe poured and once rested for a while you get brow. Sugar, nuts and cinnamon. The palate is kind of light and sweet with oak and vanilla and a bit of nuts. The finish is medium long with oak and cinnamon."

"At the palate and during the finish it’s perfectly alright, but the nose is very unpleasant. The price is very way too high, but I found my bottles at an Spanish webshop to the third of the normal price which make it price worthy for me."

"The nose on this rum is really nice and it may remind you of some of the Last Ward rums, not as complex but very well balanced. The palate has been perfectly rounded with the perfect proof. So no alcohol dominance but a perfect balance. The orange really shines through and the price to quality is very good. "

"Lovely expression for a 15 year old rum. A lot of oak from nose to finish and I love it. Less fruity but more Agricole like and slightly dry with a silky finish. Enjoying this rum again today and I really like it. "

"Interessanter Geruch, noch nie gehabt zuvor.. viele süße Aromen und Früchte, aber inzwischen nehme ich eine deutliche Haselnuss/Nougat/Milchschokoladennote als dominant wahr. Mit etwas Fantasie kann man auch Joghurt riechen. Holzige und röstige Noten sucht man vergebens, dafür bekommt man ein (etwas zu) süßer Rum mit Nuss, Frucht und Wein. Recht komplex an der Nase und einzigartig!"

"This is a medium priced rum and they did pretty well. A very flavourful rum with lots of wooden notes and fruit. Not too sweet, but nicely balanced and medium complexity. Price to quality is very good. "

"OK, no flaws but not really inspiring as well, would not have been able to attribute this to Trinidad, which can be considered a good thing: I do not like the products of Trinidad Distillers that much. A bit shy on the nose."

"Like most of the Riise range this rum is also kind of sweet. The first release of three XO Founders Reserve. Not a bad rum parse but I would have loved more kick with a higher ABV. Fruity and vegetal with a roasting note to it."
