"No wonder Joy decided to put this into her anniversary blend. This is very good and might be the best mark/bottling from the hearts collection to date (side-by-side pending, though 🙂) Intense and rich on the nose with herbs, fruits and ginger. Amazing on the palate es well with candid ginger and fruits as well nice (and well balanced) woody notes. Superb stuff."

"Quickly tasted at the 3 Rivières stand at the Rumfest. Very nice rum. The Bourbon breeding comes through a lot with its blond tobacco and nuts, which is not unpleasant, but in the end I preferred the 2005 single cask, which I find more complex and balanced."

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"I find it very good. Sweet. Not dirty, rather round. Definitely red fruit on the non-biting nose. Blackberry!!! 😋 In the emptied glass I smell shoe polish. On the palate just a pleasing, not very typical Caroni that doesn't want to hurt. Recommendation!Update 19.06.2022:Can't keep up in direct comparison with the Velier Caroni Employees 6th of course, simply paler, therefore 3 points devaluation to still a very good 87 points.Update 09.07.2022:Last drops from the bottle. Detect a fine earthy, rooty note on the finish. 😋 It would be unfair not to upgrade - so finalmente 88 points! 👏"

"Schöner new Yarmouth.

"A rum tasted at Rum Depot in Berlin. The bottle is almost empty. Full Caroni nose, tires, petrol and tar with a surprising but very pleasant freshness. The palate has a clean attack, with notes of machine shop first, then comes the freshness (menthol?) sensed on the nose, fruit last. The finish is a little pale in comparison, with fruit and a woodiness that was barely present before. The empty glass shows a lovely balance between fruit and machine shop. A very fine Caroni, too bad its finish is a little weak."

"This is yet another release from the Tributo series and again a wonderful rum. I love the box it comes in. Complex and very well balanced with a bit of dried fruit and spices topped off with oak and tobacco. Very well done and it may be a bit expensive but it is also limited to 2500 bottles worldwide. "

Top review from Tim :

"A fairly dark rum with a very fruity nose of varnish and cedar wood. The palate is smooth, balanced with fruit and cedar, as well as a taste of beeswax. The finish is rather long, ending on fruit and wood. As much as this kind of reduction has "killed" some Bristol Caronis, here it's justified and makes this rum dangerously drinkable 😇."

"This one is actually quite special from Artesano. Not diluted and no wine barrel or anything. No, cask strength and Virgin Oak, then 11 years. Was reason enough to take this bottle on the 10th GRF.Nose: initially strong and somewhat pungent alcohol. Behind that, though, nice smoky woody spicy and creamy fruity aromas. On the one hand there is light tobacco with vanilla on the other creamy taffy with coconut milk, lemon and apple. A resinous freshness with a deep nasal pull. 80Palate: pleasantly powerful. Initially bitter-salty and woody-spicy. Red pepper with vanilla, almost some umami. Then goes towards pecan, has a tart sweetness, like currant and orange peel and closes with blackberry. Back nutty with light umami and wood. 82Must feel your way, then good."

"Blenders Glass.

"I think this one will raise a stir during tasting. I do like Jamaican rums thus the high score.Leave to rest for at least 15 minutes in order to release all the flavours.Molasses and fruits get to your nose first, then comes the funk and woody vanilla and some varnish. The palate is nice and strong. Burnt wood with fruit, chocolate and caramel in the front. Then you get hit by subtle tobacco, mint and licorice. The finish is long and stays with you for a long while. Charred wood with currants and wonderful chocolate."

"Fruity and spicy on the nose, then spicy with some sweetness on the palate. Slightly alcoholic, the alcohol could be better integrated, spicy hot finish. Nice sipper, even if not quite cheap. Info: This is a Travel Edition"

"A feast for the eyes, but against its (discontinued) 23-year-old brother an explicit downgrade. A good rum, but too expensive because of its lack of mature complexity. Too bad, the "old" 23iger was really very good."
