I really like the candied fruit and banana nose, with some sweet spices mingling with the woodiness. There's even a hint of solvent after opening. On the palate, it's a spice-driven rum with some tropical fruit. The finish is medium-bodied, with a hint of licorice mingling with the spices. It's pleasant, but for a Trinidad I expected better.
A full, fruity, floral nose. Round with a touch of spice. On the palate, the fruity sweetness comes first and the spiciness takes over. A fine balance. A medium finish: the alcohol enhances the roundness and the spiciness finishes it all off. A well-balanced rum.
Candied fruits, spices, this sample is from the weaker Trinidadians
Very nice, lighter rum. Good starter for rum session.
