The "First Cask" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Whisky Import Nederland. It was distilled in 1999 from Molasses and then aged for 19 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 61,2%. Leckere jedoch auch intensive Caroni Abfüllung. Sehr dreckig overall, als hätte eine Gruppe Fahrradfahrer viel gebremst auf der der Strasse. Komponenten sind aber relativ ausbalanciert, etwas Kirsch, Schokolade, sehr gut.
Schönes Teil! Toller Caroni für mich als Caroni-Einsteiger. Ein bisschen Dreck, Teer und Röstnoten. Aber nicht zu extrem. Im Abgang kommt Menthol dazu. Der Alkohol ist super eingebunden. Sehr sehr schön.
Dieser Caroni ist eindeutig auf der dreckigen Seite zu Hause. Frucht ist nur ansatzweise wahrnehmbar. Am Gaumen entwickelt sich zudem eine florale Note von Veilchen gepaart mit dem Werkstattaromen. Der Abgang wird dann wieder richtig dreckig würzig. Ein sehr guter Caroni und mit etwas mehr Frucht hätte er durchaus Chancen gehabt, ein paar Points mehr einzusammeln.
Ein Caroni, eher auf der dreckigen Seite, aber auch mit schönen Bourbon-Noten . Gefällt mir sehr gut!
