How does this rum taste?
Most love its balanced citrus, vanilla and refined oak with well-integrated 56.9% ABV. Critics mention initial bitterness, solvent notes and a shortish finish. Consensus: a high-quality, characterful Bielle.
If you already enjoy structured agricoles or cask-strength bourbon, this Bielle rewards you with complex citrus, vanilla and spice—provided you’re patient with aeration and the assertive ABV.
Newcomers, those sensitive to higher ABV, or drinkers expecting sweet, easy agricole without bitterness, solvent hints or the need for extended aeration.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

A little gem, something magical!
The 1st nose on orange and precious wood, then the wood becomes waxed with lots of spices mixed with caramel and fruit (without being able to identify them). Very balanced and greedy. On the palate, the attack is stronger than you'd expect from the nose. We find the same markers as on the nose, plus spiciness and citrus. Spices dominate, but without disturbing, quite the contrary. The finish is long and greedy. As always, a great Bielle rum.
It is really good and well done. The mouth offers a very nice greediness (chocolate, caramel, vanilla). A little less fresh than the 2010 tasted just now, it presents on the other hand a better mastered woody taste. To my taste, the perfect Bielle would have been this one with the length of the other one or the other one with the greedy notes of this one: to be continued...
Magnificent, splendid nose of vanilla and caramel with a hint of coconut. On the palate, these aromas are repeated, with a well-integrated woodiness. Spicy finish.
