Worthy Park Special Cask Series Port
A port-driven Jamaican rum with layers of red fruit and spice; the finish is slightly short, and some find the body a little thin. One to try if you’re after a soft, winey cask influence.
Port-forward, fruity, easy-drinking and not overly funky.

How does this rum taste?
- Portwein...klarer Einschlag
- Bien pour faire découvrir les rhums jamaïcains
- Chut prijemne nasladla
Worthy Park’s Special Cask Series Port gets folks talking about its clear port wine stamp – you’ll catch the “Portwein...klarer Einschlag” (Jakob) from the first sniff, plus plenty of red fruit and vanilla. Some note it’s “not too funky as some other Jamaicans” (Werner10), so even those hesitant about heavier Jamaicans may find it easy-drinking. Reviewers are split: while the port finish is prominent and gives a sweet, winey front, others taste spice, roasted notes, and a slightly sharp, sometimes medicinal touch on the finish. Most agree the port cask leads, but some wish for more of the classic Worthy Park funk to shine through.

"30.03.2022 Sampling a bit at home. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, sweet, light medicinal, light roasted wood, banana, faint honey. Palate Fresh, light, light oily, honey, light medicinal, faint herbs, dried fruit, light herbs. Finish Medium long, light, fruity, light roasted wood, naturally sweet, light herbs, raisin, faint banana."
"In the nose, still with a clear impact of port, but on the palate, the spices press quite on the tube and despite the reduction to (high) drinking strength, the rum adheres to a quite accentuated spiciness. In the finish, a somewhat medicinal-mineral note joins in. Overall exciting, because the rum is aromatically already expressive, but unfortunately remains somewhat unbalanced. Lies for me behind the sister bottling with Madeira finish."
"Good for a gentle introduction to Jamaican rums. Interesting nose involving several solvents, but not aggressive, on a background of red fruits. The palate is good, with a hint of port finish, but the whole is rather watery. Less reduction would have been preferable. A very pleasant rum overall, as always with Worthy Park."
"I'm liking this one a lot. Probably because it's not too funky as some other Jamaicans 😅 A nice sweetness but also with a slight bittef twist to it. The port is there but not overpowering the taste imo. Very easy to drink as well."
