Chairman’s Reserve The Forgotten Casks

It’s distilled in Coffey and Pot stills and then first aged separately before blended and aged for three more years. Total aging is six to eleven years. I think it’s a little bit better than their classic Reserve. In the front of the mouth it doesn’t taste very much, but when you swallow it all flavors arrive and stays there trough the rather long finish.

The ABV was not too well integrated. Medium fruity with spices and roasted wood notes. The finish is short to medium with a light smoky touch. Would have loved a higher ABV.

Beautiful rum but I find the story very questionable. I was told 4 years ago at the German rum festival that only 3 barrels were found that had survived. Funnily enough, but there is the rum for years and it always comes replenishment....Lider a reason for me to buy no more products from chairman's. One should at least be honest with his customers

Good rum at a fair price, which scores especially with its background story. Probably not for nerds, but for all who are looking for something above entry level and thereby a characteristic profile. Although significantly thinner and weaker, it still shows a profile of dry and spicy flavors (vA dried fruit), which I have come to know as characteristic of Chairman's.

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024. Now a Chairman's. I love these rums. Nose is slightly sweet, also some wood and cask. On the palate also slightly deliciously sweet (vanilla and chocolate) and also some wood.

Actually a nice Chairman's, but since I could now try different bottlings at the Community Tasting Nuremberg, this one is the taillight. But he is not really bad, for the price completely in order. Took him in the end as a mixer.

Caramel, vanilla, treacle, oak, some spiciness. Overall, unfortunately, clearly too sweet and one-dimensional for my taste.

Pleasant spicy nose. Palate pleasing and quite sweet. Very short and flat finish. Has little to do with the Saint Lucia Singe Casks, which I like very much. This rum is clearly trimmed to please. Fair price. For beginners therefore a recommendation.

Palate: Warmth that offers grilled tropical fruits and candied walnuts, rounded with soft spices that continue as a long wonderful finish.

Significantly better than the standard Chairman and still very good value for money. Super entry-level rum with a harmonious profile, which doesn't take any risks but is still suitable for drinking neat and enjoying.

A bottle that I also classify as a beginner's rum. It's very diluted, so it's round and smooth. The fruitiness of the original is lost in favor of woodiness, vanilla and raisins.

Not to be compared with the single casks, but a very pleasant easy sipper.

Relatively flat, unfortunately has little in common with the other Chairman's. Good rum for beginners who have overcome the first sugar water.

Fair rating: Delicious blend, but appears watered down on the palate. The typical Saint Lucia aromas are present, but that certain something is missing for drinking straight. Passable in a long drink, but nothing more

Un rhum gouté au GRF en 2025 au tasting Chairman’s Reserve. Des fruits tropicaux trop mûrs et des pâtisseries, un nez très agréable, pas très complexe avec des notes végétales intéressantes. L’entrée de bouche est diluée mais avec un côté fermenté/sucré, de l’amertume boisée, du miel, des noix et des notes végétales. La finale est plutôt courte même si des notes sucrées restent longtemps. Un rhum simple mais qui possède déjà un peu de l’ADN de Ste Lucie.
