How does this rum taste?
The Kill Devil <>H is a distinguished Jamaican rum from the renowned Hampden distillery, bottled by Hunter Laing. Distilled in 2001 from molasses using a pot still, it spent 16 years aging, resulting in a robust ABV of 60.7%. Limited to just 265 bottles, this rum captivates with its high ester content, tropical fruit notes, and distinctive aromas of glue and varnish. On the palate, users report essences of esters, fruity nuances, leather, and subtle banana undertones. While some find the alcohol punch slightly overpowering, it remains a classic example of Hampden's signature style, suitable for sipping or mixing.

Todays competition lowers it a bit and I probably would rate it higher if it where a higher ABV too, but still really good.
15.02.2020 Had a nice evening with dinner and everything and after that a nice little tasting. Notes. Light in colour. Nose Light wood, fruity, banana, ginger, spice, ester, light smoke. Palate Oily, wood, fruity, pineapple, citrus, ester, light smoke. Finish Medium long, wood, pineapple, light chocolate.
Beautiful classic profile as you would expect from the HD 2001 <>H. Solid representative without standing out. Also delivers Tai in May.
