LVMH Cuba Ron S.A. Eminente Ambar Claro

#4926 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light, fresh, faint wood, ginge, light apple, sweet, spice, faint nutts, vanilla. Palate Light, round, sweet, faint wood, vanilla, light apple, light citrus, faint ginger, light nutts, faint caramel. Finish Short, sweet, fruits, light nutts, light citrus, light caramel, vanilla. This is a surprisingly good sipper considering it was made for mixing.

So, tasting for me takes time and requires a nice quiet set to which I did not have for some time now. This is part of the Eminente Tasting, thanks to RumX, and as usual I revisit the first impression by having a go at the second half of the sample at a later point. I was really surprised by the overall intensity I got with Eminente, something I was not used by Cuban Rum. This is due to the heavy impact of aguaridente, and it seems to be a good idea to do this. This is the youngest of the bunch we tasted, and the freshest. The nose is fruity and lots of peach, but also some fresh grassy notes come to me. On the tongue it is fruity as well, but I cannot make out very distinct notes. It also gets some herbal moments, and overall one notices a little bit of fresh wood. Overall very nice, propably not a daily sipper but definitely interesting in cocktails.

Surprisingly solid young Cuban despite drinking strength, not fizzy, very mild and even relatively complex. really good for such a young Cuban! Really good daiquiri with it and generally for me one of the best young Cubans on the market for mixing!

But the bottle is beautiful

A very light-colored rum. A more complex nose than the 3 years of age would suggest. Pear, pepper, grapes. The palate is a little too diluted, with pepper, pear and young wood. The finish is very short, on peppers and pepper. A fine experience for such a young rum.

A young Cuban.... Unfortunately, I don't really know what to do with it... it reminds me of a diluted pear brandy with a slight hint of wood... it definitely doesn't leave me with any lasting memories

Lots of pears and light fruits on the nose. Creamy and surprisingly complex on the palate for a rum matured for 3 years. Not only strong in cocktails, but also an exciting sipper.

This one is a little better. On the nose it is one thing above all, namely fruity. Pear and apple can be detected. It's the same on the palate. This rum smells and tastes very fresh/refreshing.

RX Eminente tasting on 20.12. The Ambar Claro is an easy sipper, the 7-year-old Reserva scores with wood and spices, the Gran Reserva No.1 is even more intense and multi-faceted. It is also my favorite with the cigar...

Tasted during the RumX Eminente tasting. Good young Cuban rum. Has much more to offer than, for example, a Havana Club 3

Finally got around to try the Eminente taste set! In the nose of this one, I'm getting fruits and some hints of wood. In the notes, more fruits, some spice and hints of wood. A licorice-like aftertaste.

Fresh and fruity profile, pear, apple, some sweet vanilla. Aromatically not overly complex, but quite pleasant to drink.

Thanks again to RumTaTa. Unfortunately, the finish of this rum is also relatively short. The taste is not bad at all. I would be interested to know how it would taste at cask strength. But as a mixer I still think it's a success.
