How does this rum taste?
- Profil bien fidjien avec des esters sucrés
- Produit sympa pour son prix
- Nez surprenant pour un rhum des Fidji
RumX tasters found this Fiji 2014 'Rum of the World' delivers a nose that surprises with 'esters, vernis, fruits tropicaux' (@Vincent D) and a hit of smoke mixed with varnish and alcohol. The palate follows with smoky, woody bitterness, where the cask's influence is hard to miss—'probably the wood but as if the rum had aged too fast in a too new barrel' (@Vincent D). There's a recognizable Fiji ester profile underneath and flashes of tropical fruit, but many highlighted the persistent bitterness and 'alcool vraiment mal intégré' (@Maxime Clr 🇫🇷) as a distraction from its brighter notes.

"Sehr Säurelastig, sehr trocken, wenig Süße, Alkohol nicht gut eingebunden"
"This one was a disappointment but you can't always win the lottery. Probably best in a mixer. The nose is intense with fruit, varnish and smoke. The palate is fruity with smoky wood and light vanilla. The finish is long with smoky wood and vanilla. Overall I'd say a pretty unbalanced rum for sipping."
"In der Nase Fidschi, Frucht gepaart mit Lack und Alkohol. Im Mund dann holzig eher bitter etwas rauchig aber das war es dann fast auch schon. Nicht schlecht aber eher enttäuschender Fidschi."
"This really seems like a bad apple of the 2014 stock. It is excessively bitter and only hints to the greatness of its tcrl sister..."
