Rhum J.M 2002
The "2002" was produced in Martinique at the Rhum J.M distillery. It was distilled in 2002 from Sugar cane juice with a Column Still and then aged for 15 years. The rum has an ABV of 41,5%. 13 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.8/10. 21.02.2020 A small private event where we borrowed the basement bar area for a private tasting and also had a go at their food. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose Wood, roasted, mint, orange, grass, herbs, light cherry. Palate Oily, wood, roasted, spice, balanced, light caramel, cherry, light licorice, light mint. Finish Medium to long, wood, fruits, faint mint and licorice.

On the nose, extravagant tropical fruits magnify a woody background, followed by dried fruits and cocoa. The whole is light but very attractive. Round and elegant on the palate. Tropical fruits lead the way, accompanied by notes of cocoa and licorice. The finish is soft and subtle, with stewed fruit. Some will say that it's a little flat, lacking in power: what the hell is a 41.5% BDF? Yes, it's true, but this candy is really good. Some Martinique 15 yo's are just wood, but this one's just gourmet.
