Rhum J.M 2002 15yr 41,5%
This 2002 Rhum J.M from Martinique, aged for 15 years, is crafted from sugar cane juice and distilled with a column still at 41.5% ABV. Users highlight its inviting nose, featuring tropical fruits like mandarin and guava, enriched by notes of wood, bitter orange, and a hint of glue. The palate is praised for its creamy toffee and licorice tones, complemented by complex baking spices and subtle woody notes. The rum's finish is often described as smooth and subtle, with elements of compote fruits and nuanced spice. Though some find it slightly lacking in strength, its overall complexity and pronounced flavors of cacao, eucalyptus, and roasted herbs make it a standout among agricole rums. Perfect for those seeking a sophisticated, elegant rum experience.

“On the nose, extravagant tropical fruits magnify a woody background, followed by dried fruits and cocoa. The whole is light but very attractive. Round and elegant on the palate. Tropical fruits lead the way, accompanied by notes of cocoa and licorice. The finish is soft and subtle, with stewed fruit. Some will say that it's a little flat, lacking in power: what the hell is a 41.5% BDF? Yes, it's true, but this candy is really good. Some Martinique 15 yo's are just wood, but this one's just gourmet.”
