DDL El Dorado 12 (2020 Release)
Most enjoy its gentle caramel‑raisin profile, fair complexity and strong value. Critics find it a bit thin and underpowered. Consensus: a well‑balanced, easy Demerara starter, especially in the new low‑sugar version.
Those building their palate who want an easy Demerara with gentle sweetness, caramel and dried fruits, plus good value and a low‑sugar profile compared to older El Dorado 12 bottlings.

How does this rum taste?
Easy Demerara starter with caramel and oak
If you’ve mostly had sweet Spanish‑style rums and want a more honest, low‑sugar option, this keeps the caramel comfort while introducing real Demerara character without overwhelming you.

It's brilliant to see El Dorado abandoning the sugar dosing . This is apparently very low when tested with hydrometer... Nosing Chocolate, raisens ,figs and dates . Tasting Smoke ,apples and figs
I am not a fan. I do not like it very much. I would rather go with pusser's all the time. It is similar but there is something in the taste that I particularly do not like and cannot describe.
Incredible nose, incredible taste. Just perfect :)
A really lovely Rum. Without added sugar in the new bottling, but still a pleasant sweetness. and pobaply the best value for money in my opinion. the 15 yo is quite a bit more expensive but not much superior
