After a decent nose in the glass for me a big surprise. Nevertheless, for me the 1992 vintage is not epic.

How lucky can you be, three great rums in a row. Rested this one for 15+ minutes before giving it a go and what a go 😊 A lovely fruity Hampden with smoky wood and spices. There is a light funkiness on the nose and palate and the esters compliment the overall profile. The empty glass is also really nice after and hour or so.

Un Hampden embouteillé par Nobilis, qui a réalisé un beau travail dans la sélection du fût. Ce HLCF vieilli en partie sous climat continental exhibe de beaux arômes fruités au nez, à la fois exotiques et très mûrs (banane, ananas et mangue notamment), quelques agrumes et les fameuses notes phénoliques propres au funk jamaïcain. Après aération, quelques notes pâtissières (massepain) font leur apparition. En bouche, on a un rhum au profil lourd mais aussi très crémeux, huileux, qui se mâche presque et qui englobe le palais de ces saveurs exotiques, funky, épicées, légèrement rôties et florales. L’alcool est à peine perceptible. Ce concentré de saveurs se retrouvent dans une finale longue, légèrement tannique, fumée, pimentée, pâtissière et toujours aussi fruitée et phénolique, dont il sera difficile de se débarrasser au dentifrice. Un rhum évidemment très agréable, très gourmand et aromatique, mais qui va commencer à faire partie des victimes de la spéculation à cause de ses qualités indéniables et de sa rareté hélas.

Perfect compromise between very high ester content and lack of funkyness. Fruity but not unnecessarily sweet. Funky but not tongue numbing.

very round on the nose, hardly any funky ester notes (also 'only' HLCF Marque), but citrus and a note towards sour cream (?) On the palate also citrus, the 60.2% is not noticeable at all. The alcohol is excellently integrated. Toasted wood barrel on the finish. Overall, perhaps almost a bit too much wood and roasted flavors, but the Nobilis still gets a top score from me.

Classic Hampden profile paired with woody bitterness and some spice. On the palate, unfortunately, without the charismatic, heavy sweetness notes that bring additional complexity, especially in the tropically aged High-Ester bottlings again. Nevertheless, a successful bottling.

Really very close to the Rum Club 1992s. The alcohol is integrated here very slightly worse. But that is really complaining at a very high level.

Ein typischer Hampden, der absolut zu überzeugen weiß! Der Alkohol ist super eingebunden, die Ester überwiegen nicht und die Frucht kommt deutlich heraus! Klasse, davon bitte mehr!!!

Wie eingangs schon vermutet, völlig überlagernder Fasseinfluss. Da kann HLCF in diesem Fall kaum dagegen halten. Fruchtige Noten, die anfangs definitiv noch wahrnehmbar sind, werden nach ca einer halben Stunde vollständig von einer erdigen Anisnote überlagert. Das ist schon sehr krass und macht den Rum dementsprechend unrund und anstrengend. Das ist definitiv kein schlechter Rum, ich persönlich bin da allerdings raus

Surprenant l'équilibre entre le fût et le jus.. On n'a pas le côté explosif des esters à foison mais quelque chose d'homogéne avec un côté grillé en fin de bouche

Very funky nose with loads of fruits and perfectly integrated alcohol. Same profile in mouth but surprisingly sweet and round. Very gentle mouth. Very good Hampden overall 👌 🇯🇲
