Komplex and elegant nose, nicely combining wood, fruits, and some herbal notes. Notes from the barrel aka wood is dominant on the palate. Again, nicely balanced with some herbs and red fruits. Small 1989 Utivlugt cross tasting: Nobilis vs. CorCol vs. CoR vs. Ricci vs. TWJ. On the nose: CoR >>> Ricci > TWJ = Nob > CC With its higher ABV the CoR is playing in a wholly different league - stunning on the nose. CC needs very much time to open up. TWJ with the darkest nose; Most leather and wood forwards. Palate: CoR > Nobilis > CC > TWJ >> Ricci
A great Guyanese.Complex and incredibly drinkable at the same time.On the nose a lot of herbs, some malt, licorice and pencil, although only very light.Very velvety on the palate with perfectly integrated alcohol. The above mix also comes to the fore in the taste. There is still leather to it.In the finish then some chocolate.
#22 RumXCalendar Blind tasting: N: woody, vanilla, prunes, raisin, alcoholic, leather, roastes M: complex, dry, spicy, licorice, oak, roasted, herbal, dried fruits F:dry, smoky, mocha, coffee, oak, vanilla Prediction: classic guyana, approx. 50% and with 20 years + This is a good solid rum! When i saw the output, i was a little dissapointed. This could be a bomb, but for me it‘s a mid 80! The wood isn‘t so dominant but the value for money is bad. Watered down? Nose: alcoholic, woody(oak), vanilla, prunes, raisins, pineapple, mango, peaches, orange, herbal, toffee, clove Mouth: complex, intense, balanced, dry, astringend, woody, licorice, coffee, leather, spicy, dark chocolate, toffee, herbal, roasted, tannins Finish: medium, dry, woody(oak), coffee, mocha, licorice, roasted, vanilla
Beautiful PM. Licorice dominates with pleasant bitterness on the palate.
