Papillon is a brand from Carrere/Montebello exclusively made for the European market. It’s a little bit sweeter than their regular range and are also aged in former Cognac barrels. It’s quite many years since they stopped produced this one and it’s younger version. At the nose I got a feeling that it’s younger than it really is. It’s fruity and woody with aromas of chocolate and raisins. At the palate it’s also fruity, woody but also sweet with flavors of chocolate, prunes, toffee, oak and cognac. During the rather long finish the flavors still remain, but instead of sweetness it’s rather dry.
