How does this rum taste?
Fans highlight its deep, complex Enmore profile: tobacco, licorice and dark chocolate over old wood, with prunes and black tea nuances and an exceptionally long, dry finish. Many find the 48.5% well integrated and elegant, though some mention pronounced bitterness, strong oak and a lighter punch than other ’94 REVs. Popular on RumX with 90 reviews and strong buyer confidence, this 26‑year, 124‑bottle release rewards unhurried sipping.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Not quite on the outstanding level of the other bottlings from 1994, which could possibly also be due to the lower alcohol content and the associated, somewhat reduced aromatics - but REV nevertheless remains an outstanding marque that knows how to convince constantly.
Compared to other ‘94 REVs, this so far has the ‚darkest‘ and thickest nose leaning towards herbal and more woody/smokey notes. This is also reflected on the palate making this one the most woody of the batch so far.
Overall, we like this rum very much. The nose smells dark chocolate, dried fruit and tobacco. In the mouth very complex, spicy, but also quite woody. It is also extremely soft and elegant with a slight bitter note. It has an incredibly long finish with flavors of prunes, spices and lots of licorice. Really great. But 320 euros? Phew. Cheaper you will get such a rum soon but no more.
An exceptional rum, but too woody for my taste! But that's complaining on a high level! The rum is great! Edit: In the glass again today and I have to improve here. I suspect that my taste perception has changed somewhat. Today it seems much rounder and more accessible to me. Despite the relatively light ABV, it is very complex and deep. It develops a very wide range of dark aromas. 0.4 points upwards corrected
