Summary
The S.B.S Guyana SVL was produced in Guyana at the Diamond distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler 1423 World Class Spirits. It was distilled in 2003 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 17 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 53,7% and the mark is SVL. This is a limited release and there are only 161 bottles.

Ein fruchtig - süßer Rum mit einer leichten, an Essig erinnernden, Säure. Es finden sich noch Kräuter und verschiedene Gewürze und einer Bitterkeit. Den Alkohol empfand ich nur mittelmäßig gut eingebunden. Trotzdem ein interessanter Rum.

Ein Savalle Still aber ganz anders als SWR, ICBU oder AN. Hier dominieren künstlichen, süßen Fruchtaromen - ich liebe es! In der Nase HubbaBubba Erdbeere, vergorene Früchte und Karamellbonbons. Erst im Hintergrund die dunkle Würzigkeit, die man sonst erwarten würde. Im Mund weiterhin sehr fruchtig mit einer esterigen Säure, es folgen Piment und andere Gewürze und nach kurz vor dem Abgang eine leichte Kräuternote. Der Abgang ist leider etwas kurz - hier macht sich das Holz mit einer leichten Bitterkeit bemerkbar.

Krasse Nummer. Blind hätte ich wohl nie gedacht das das ein Guyana Rum sein soll! Eher ein grand arome savanna oder le galion mit PX finish aufgrund der fast schon künstlich wirkenden Fruchtigkeit nach Erdbeere, Sahnebonbons, hubba bubba und Lachgummi. Dazu kommt eine überraschend intensive süße und leichte Essigsäure, sowie leichte Kräuter Noten und im Abgang minimal bitter, sauer und adstringierend und gleichzeitig sirupartig süß... Sehr sehr ungewöhnlich... Die Essigsäure ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und definitiv nichts für jeden Tag... Und auch die süße kommt mir nicht natürlich vor... Woher diese für Guyana untypischen Noten herkommen ist mir echt ein Rätsel und habe ich so noch nie erlebt. Hierzu würde ich gerne mehr Informationen bekommen, denn von Guyana ist hier keine Spur.🤷🏼♂️

Diesem Diamond konnte ich leider nicht viel abgewinnen. Er wirkt fast etwas gesüßt. Der Alkohol ist nicht gut eingebunden. Leider nicht mein Fall.

C'est bon mais assez dispensable. Le nez n'est pas très maitrisé (trop de vinaigre et de bois neuf). La bouche est mieux, alliant bien cerise, bois, herbe et caramel. Ça n'est pas très complexe mais la bouche est plutôt équilibrée. La finale est moyennement longue sur le piment et le chêne. Ça aurait pu être plus réussi mais ça reste sympa à boire.

Farbe: Leuchtend Kastanien-farben Geruch: Süß nach Vanilleeis mit Erdbeeren. Toffee und Karamell im Hintergrund. Geschmack: Süß im Mund mit Karamell. Rund im Geschmack mit Toffee Aromen und Erdbeersirup. Abgang: Holzig mit Karamell und Toffee, leicht würzig. 86 Punkte

Nose was not as pungent as I was expecting, flavour was there but didn’t have a distinct personality which I was hoping for. Alcohol plays in your mouth, enjoyable and one I’m happy to go back for more but there are better examples out there.

verkostet zusammen mit dem 2003 SVL aus dem SBS Set. Der 2001 SWR (Skeldon) geht hier eindeutig als Sieger hervor. Der 2003er SVL hat eine an vergorene rote Früchte erinnernde Nase, gepaart mit einer gewisen Frische. An Gaumen kommen Piment und Gewüre und Assoziationen von Kräutertee. Der Abgang ist etwas bitter.

Je ne m'attendais pas à cela. Le coté prune et eau de vie de fruits est très marqué, tout comme la douceur. On pourrait penser à un rum sucré...? Au final ce rum est déroutant par rapport à ce qu'on s'attend à trouver mais il reste agréable à boire. C'est tout de même un très bon produit.
