Very round, sweet melange of spices and fresh wood. For me, a bit too straightforward and pleasing in profile to strike out even higher in the rating. But that is criticism at the highest level, since the top league from Guyana simply has even more complexity, finesse and aromatics to offer. Nevertheless, a high-class representative of the current Demerara squad.

Dieser SWR sticht durch seine Fruchtigkeit heraus. Die Cappuccino–Karamellbonbon-Note teilt sich die Bühne mit einer roten Frucht die an alten Rotwein erinnert. Im Mund dann wieder klassischer SWR. Es dominieren dunkle Schokolade und trockene Früchte mit Backgewürzen. Holz ist präsent, overpowered das Destillat aber nicht. Die SWR-typische Bitterkeit hält sich in Grenzen. Im Abgang mehr röstige Bitterkeit und dann wenn es schon fast vorbei ist kommt nochmal ein Löffel ungesüßte rote Grütze um die Ecke. Macht viel Pass! Neue Runde mit dem neuen SBS zusammen. Das ist der gleiche Stoff znd schmeckt noch genauso gut, wie vor einem Jahr.

Very smooth, pleasant fruity profile without becoming too sweet. Compared to the Enmore 1994 from the same release less woody and more fruity.

Das zweite Mal im Glas. Mittlerweile gefällt er mir besser! Aber gegen tropisch gereifte Velier verliert er dann doch ganz schön stark.

In vergelijking met de El Dorado Skelton 2000 meer scherpte van alcohol die wat minder goed geïntegreerd is (en ook ietsje lager). Het geheel is nog steeds ongelofelijk goed. Als ik hem apart had geproefd, had ik hem waarschijnlijk hoger gescoord. PS: Bedankt Christoph voor de sample!

Wunderbar warme, tiefe und süße Nase, mit sehr schön eingebundenem Holz, wobei allerdings genau dieses Holz, Möbelpolitur und die extrem Süße Noten den Rum etwas einseitig macht. Insgesamt ist das trotzdem sehr schön und es kommen auch noch deutlich getrocknete Früchte und geröstete Nüsse hervor. Im Mund lässt er dann deutlich nach, viel mehr Fass, Holz, Bitterkeit und Röstaromen, als es die Nase vermuten ließ......schade. Das bekommt der El Dorado insgesamt definitiv besser hin, vor allem im Mund

Lovely burnt caramel on the nose and the palate with some red fruits (plums?) in the back. I imagine this is taste close to the stuff they use for colouring all the REVs ans SWRs with...It may be a one trick pony, but what it does it does quite well. I like it a bit more than most REVs I have tasted so far because this one here lacks the dried herbs note that irritates me. I hope the one "for the Nectar" comes close.

Very pleasant rum! Unfortunately, I’m not lucky (or wealthy 😅) enough to compare it with the Velier unicorn-like release..Anyway, really sweet, lots of red fruits, mou and cake-like flavors, all’ wonderfully mixed with oak and vanilla from the barrel.,long story short: if you can find one bottle, grab it, no questions asked!

Farbe: Leuchtendes Rotbraun Geruch: Süß mit Aromen von Toffee, Vanille, Zedernholz und Sherry. Zudem etwas getrocknete Aprikose. Geschmack: Süß, vollmundig und rund im Geschmack, dabei cremig, ölig und sirupartig. Aromen von Toffee, Karamell und Zedernholz. Im Hintergrund rote Früchte. Abgang: Lang Süß mit Toffee Aromen. 88 Punkte

verkostet zusammen mit dem 2003 SVL aus dem SBS Set. Der 2001 SWR (Skeldon) geht hier eindeutig als Sieger hervor. Er ist unglaublich rund und weich. Im Vergleich mit dem 2003er Skeldon von El Dorado würde ich den El Dorado allerdings noch einen Ticken besser sehen.
