RumX members love this Colombian sipper for its smooth, unsweetened profile and standout value. Expect vanilla and woody notes on the nose with cocoa, caramel and orange peel; the palate follows with gentle spice, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Often enjoyed neat, it’s a bestselling favorite with exceptional buyer confidence and 316 community reviews. Some find the 40% ABV and finish a touch short, but the balance wins many over.

beautiful unsweetened
Have bought this rum mainly because of the beautiful bottle. Actually a Red Flag, if you are looking for good taste, this one has surprised me relatively positively. Due to the only 40% somewhat watered down and thin and not too complex but a nice Feierabend Sipper at a good price. Definitely a great entry rum and superior to the many dead sugared competitors.Addendum: last drop is out of the bottle. Complex? Rather less. Good sipper? Definitely. A good unsweetened representative of the Spanish style. A little more power would have done it good. A >50% version would be nice. Still, great price/performance. Overall rating 2
very nice and rather unique under the latin style rums. the aroma seems roasted and nutty. the wood is pretty strong but well integrated. Like most latin rums it doesn't throw too much at you, but I enjoy this one a lot. Higer abv would be great
7,5:On the nose, initially quite sharper oak, tobacco, a little chocolate, coffee. Sultanas, pralines, almonds, dried fruits, more confectionary notes come to front after some time. A touch vegetal (green plantain), turnip then more oak & vanilla. It's a pleasant nose overall, not offensive at all, sweet but not sickly. 7,5:On the palate, there are prunes, nougat, oranges, a hint of cooked peach/apricots, molasses, a little banana peel, incense, dried fruits, lots of prominent spicy oak. 7,2:The finish is on the medium side, over steeped black tea, blackcurrant buds, juniper, a little marzipan & floral..
