Medium-bodied with a nutty flavor. Some charred barrel notes. Reminds me of bourbon.

beautiful unsweetened

very nice and rather unique under the latin style rums. the aroma seems roasted and nutty. the wood is pretty strong but well integrated. Like most latin rums it doesn't throw too much at you, but I enjoy this one a lot. Higer abv would be great

On the nose, it's quite mild. Vanilla, wood and cocoa up front with coffee and subtle orange peel towards the end. The palate hits you with spice firstly. Like a chilli has touched your tongue but without missing a beat it moves to dark chocolate and woody notes then begins to drift into the taste of good cappuccino, with extra sugar. On the finish those cappuccino notes linger. No complaints there. The spiciness at the start of the palate loses this rum points for me and, although nice beyond that, it doesn't wow me.

Very sweet taste, quite light, caramel and we find the woody and slightly spicy side of the nose.

Not bad at all, even a little better than it deserves to be.

Great sipper for a relaxed evening! Very beginner-friendly, nice and fruity and sweet. The cooler Zacapa!

Un rhum extrêmement correct pour le prix. Bien typé sud américain (et joie) sans sucre. Un produit à avoir dans son bar sans arrière pensée... Un nez typique sud américain... Boisé, floral et fruité le tout dans la douceur. Une bouche fruitée tirant dans le café et le caramel avec une belle dose épicée... Une fin courte boisée et épicée... Un peu dommage. Mais ça n'enlève pas ses qualités. Il meriterai quelques degrés en plus.

7,5:On the nose, initially quite sharper oak, tobacco, a little chocolate, coffee. Sultanas, pralines, almonds, dried fruits, more confectionary notes come to front after some time. A touch vegetal (green plantain), turnip then more oak & vanilla. It's a pleasant nose overall, not offensive at all, sweet but not sickly. 7,5:On the palate, there are prunes, nougat, oranges, a hint of cooked peach/apricots, molasses, a little banana peel, incense, dried fruits, lots of prominent spicy oak. 7,2:The finish is on the medium side, over steeped black tea, blackcurrant buds, juniper, a little marzipan & floral..

A freat surprise for me especially considering price/performance ratio. Very pleasant rum in general from Colombia the land of Dictador. I like this more than banana experiment which was extremely sweet to me. A very sympathetic feelings it left.

02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. Here are the rums we tasted at the event itself, nothing truly unique but we had fun. This is the first half of the tastings. Notes Light roasted wood, vanilla, orange, light coffee, light dried fruit, faint caramel. Palate Light, light wood, light coffee, orange, light chocolate, light smoke, sweet, earthy. Finish Short to medium, light wood, light tobacco, light coffee, faint chocolate, nutts.
