How does this rum taste?
- Honey and mint aromas
- Complex and full-bodied
- Cask strength richness
The Rasta Morris Trinidad Rum, distilled at T.D.L in 2007, is a limited release by Asta Morris with only 253 bottles, aged 13 years and bottled at cask strength of 67.5% ABV. This robust rum is made from molasses, showcasing an aromatic profile dominated by honey, mint, and woody notes, complemented by black tea undertones. Its taste is equally potent with honey, mintiness, and an oily mouthfeel. Users often note its complexity as well as hints of spice, florals, and a medium to long finish. While some drinkers appreciate its intensity and distinctive characteristics, others feel it lacks a forthright T.D.L identity, making it more akin to other styles.

To T.D.L
"For me, this rum is a real disappointment. Have the feeling to have a different rum in the glass than in the other reviews - but they are partly bottled from my bottle 🤷♂️. Have now tried for the fourth time to perceive more, but I can not find anything. The nose is sweet and one-dimensional, light fruit, light tobacco, nothing else. The mouth shows great density, but aromatically it unfortunately brings little more than the nose, but the alcohol stings in the finish. This is sounds like a real tear-down, but it's not that bad, it's just upscale mediocrity in the Spanish style. Too bad absolutely no dirty TDL 😪"
"Great nose, lots of honey, heavy fruit notes of dark red sour fruits. In addition, some vanilla and chocolate. In the mouth, however, somewhat disappointing, an intense and complex flavor profile is unfortunately absent. In the finish, vegetable and sour fruits can be found again. Mhm, actually a good rum, which is still missing that certain something."
"24.02.2024 Great tasting event at Whisky Watcher with food and lots of bottles. Retasting and I stick to my initial score. ------------------------- #4466 12.11.2023 Looking at the price tag you can make a good buy with this rum. Needs to rest for a good while before giving it a go or you'll be disappointed. Medium intense with nice fruits and spices. The palate is oily and warm and the finish medium to long. I love the light floral touch ok the profile. The empty glass has nice raisin and a touch of caramel."
"While better than younger TDLs due to a slight mint note, overall quite one-dimensional."
