The Guyana (Hampden Cask Finish) MPM is a limited-release rum from the Port Mourant distillery in Guyana, bottled by The Rum Cask. Distilled in 2008 using a Double Wooden Pot Still and aged for 12 years, it features a notable ester intensity, enriched by the Hampden cask finish. This 60.3% ABV cask strength rum presents tropical and citrus notes, with a roasted undertone. While some praise its complex profile and harmonious blend of Guyana and Jamaica influences, others find the Hampden finish overshadowing the Guyana characteristics, resulting in a less distinctive palate. This unique release, limited to 111 bottles, highlights the interplay between the two rum styles, offering an intriguing experience for enthusiasts.

Guyana meets Jamaika - was man sonst aus dem ein oder anderen Navy-Blend kennt, wurde hier auf neue Weise interpretiert. Bin ich sonst kein Fan von Finishs, so begeistert mich dieser Rum immer wieder. Ein jamaikanischer Funk ist ganz klar vorhanden, dennoch schreit diese Abfüllung nicht eindeutig Hampden, wie man dies von anderen Finishes in deren Fässern kennt. Irgendwie haben sich die beiden Stile hier vermischt und etwas neues produziert, ich weiß nicht, wo ich den blind zugeordnet hätte! Mal was anderes, spannendes und das zu einem anständigen Kurs. Schenke ich mir gerne und oft ein.

Sehr lecker aber blind einfach ein Jamaikaner der lecker ist. Überhaupt nicht kompliziert
Hier hat das Hampden Fass den Guyana Rum etwas platt gemacht. Blind für mich ein esterreicher Jamaika Rum mit vergorenen Früchten in Joghurt serviert. Im Abgang kommen die 60% etwas zu deutlich durch.
