"Nice rum, but too similar to hampden the younger and the 50 euro difference is a tease to the consumer. Unfortunately lately Velier is releasing overpriced bottlings where you pay for the brand and less for the quality of the product. Personally I would never buy it taking into account that the overproof can be found at 80 euros and this at 110 and the younger at 59."

"So you smell Hampden right away. In the taste and finish smoky spicy notes overlay the tropical fruits, so you can not really taste concrete fruits out."

"A beautiful nose, this smells great! In the mouth I am getting lots of tropical fruit, pineapple, mango and the like. Glue, Vanilla, touch of caramel, small amount of spice. A mild and balanced Hampden. It's defintly no funk bomb but it doesn't need to be! A very enjoyable rum, medium length finish, I am actually enjoying the slightly lower than normal ABV."
