Very accessible and enjoyable rum. One of my favourites from 2021
The quintessential Hampden, shtick!
Too much reduction and a watery finish. This Hampden is for the novice Jamaican. But which novice will put 125 euros in a bottle?Edit December 2022:The bottle was opened a long time ago and I found it was not a great Jamaican but a very good spirit. A bit like the Long Pond ITP 15, we are not overwhelmed by the esters and very balanced with notes of candied fruits and caramelized touches. I don't have the watery side at all and it makes you want to fold your glass. Simply put.
Nice rum, but too similar to hampden the younger and the 50 euro difference is a tease to the consumer. Unfortunately lately Velier is releasing overpriced bottlings where you pay for the brand and less for the quality of the product. Personally I would never buy it taking into account that the overproof can be found at 80 euros and this at 110 and the younger at 59.
