How does this rum taste?
Most love it as a fruity, funky, great‑value entry Hampden; critics find it a bit thin, sharp or short. Consensus: ideal gateway to LROK funk and versatile in cocktails.
If you’re Hampden-curious, this gives you real LROK funk in a softer, cheaper package than the older or cask-strength releases, making it perfect as your first serious Jamaican pot still bottle.
Those expecting thick cask-strength intensity or very long finishes; rum drinkers who dislike ester funk or are sensitive to some alcohol sharpness.

Nice rum although the overproof remains clearly the best.
Great nose . After taste like cognac. Didn’t like it solo but good mixed.
Typical Jamaican, both in smell and taste. Varnish, esters, very ripe fruit on the nose. no big surprise on the palate, except for its freshness. short finish, but it's a young rum, so not surprising in my opinion. Nice to start a Hampden line-up. Edit 05/02/2022: every time I come back to it, I tell myself that this first batch of Younger is a real success. I haven't had the opportunity to taste anything this good for the same price in all of 2021. Gosh, it's a good way to start a little tasting. Edit 09/2023: tasted again and sensations confirmed
Wonderful rum to dive into the world of Hampden. Due to the reduction a real easy sipper.
