How does this rum taste?
Community loves the explosive yet elegant nose, rich dark fruits, coffee and toasted oak. Critics mention a shorter finish and high market price. Consensus: a world‑class historic Demerara.
If you enjoy old Velier Demeraras like PM or Skeldon, this is a must-try: same dense, roasted dark-fruit profile, just a bit more elegant and pastry-like, but still full proof.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or value seekers who dislike intense oak, dark roasted notes or paying big money for rare old Velier bottlings.

The nose is to fall in love! Sensational rum!
Wow, what a nose. Insanely intense, full-bodied and simply delicious. Lovely sweet, spicy, complex. Raisin and dried currant with orange and tangerine. A subtle sweetness of burnt sugar in honey, almost floral. Then some vanilla and dry dust, lightly toasted, a bit leathery out the back. Then much spicier and pleasantly woody on the palate, intense at the start but then flattening out quickly. Still complex and delicious. Slightly salty with vanilla and nutmeg. Clearly toasted with a pleasant acidity, some raisin and currant again.Krass!
A Velier Demerara distilled on the Savalle column, who can remain objective? Not me.A beautiful nose, you can spend an entire evening with it. Elegant, balanced, cedar as usually only the French can do. Yes, quite similar to a very good Agricole. Wonderful in the mouth as well. Mmmmm, very good. Middleweight, elegant.I would love a bottle, but alas....
Excellent rum very round on toasted oak, coconut, caramel, chocolate with a little orange and tobacco.🤤
