How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise this Foursquare-made 5-year for its approachable, classic Barbados profile—vanilla, caramel and oak with touches of dried fruit and cocoa. Often enjoyed in cocktails, it’s light on the palate and considered good value, a popular pick with 50 reviews and strong buyer confidence. Some find it thin or a bit sharp at 40%, but many see it as a reliable mixer that sips decently.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Woody/barrel, chocolate and a tiny bit of vanilla. The alcohol comes across as pungent. I would never purchase a bottle.
01.05.2019 Nice tasting with friends including my slow cooked pot roast. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Light, light wood, faint roasted, dried fruit, caramel, light floral, spice. Palate Light, sweet, light wood, dried fruit, light floral, faint pineapple, spice, light chocolate, light caramel. Finish Short to medium, light wood, sweet, light dried fruit, faint citrus, light chocolate, faint caramel. Extra note. Surprisingly good at the age and price tag.
A solid rum, good for cocktails ok for sipping. The nose gives off caramel, vanilla, and oak notes with a little banana. The rum is light on the tongue with caramel and vanilla as the primary taste. The finish is slightly better than the palate with vanilla, dried fruit, and barrel spices.
super round number! nice entry Barbados rum!
