Velier J. Bally Millésime 2008 (LMDW) 2008 43%
The Millésime 2008 (LMDW) is a limited-release rum from the J. Bally distillery in Martinique, with only 600 bottles produced. Selected and bottled by Velier, this 43% ABV rum is distilled from sugar cane juice using a Creole Column. With prominent aromas of woody, apricot, agricole, floral, and apple notes, it offers flavors of woody, spicy, roasted, apricot, and a rough texture on the palate. Tasters appreciate its unique, floral characteristics and fass-aged profile, although some found the finish a bit flat. Overall, it's a well-received agricole rum that would especially appeal to fans of fass-accented agricole rums.

“Interesting aromatics. Here floral notes come together with peanuts and fennel.Lots of wood on the palate and quite dry. Due to the dilution, the finish is unfortunately relatively flat. All in all, however, a successful Agricole, which will please lovers of barrel-heavy Agricole.”

“Much too woody. The latter dominates and crushes everything.”
