"Overall an typical AOC Agricole for its age thats not especially complex or characterful. The nose is fruity and smoky with aromas of nuts, oak and bourbon. At the palate the aromas comes back as flavors."
"7,7:On the nose, it is light, the first impression is like we scent Islay whisky, but just for short, because then agricole steps in with Martinique volcanique notes. Fruits (grape and prune) and nuts (hazelnut and almond) are the omnipresent on this nose, when aired a bit. Caramel is also here, as some herbal, flowery and woody notes. Becomes dry, some roastedness is here. 7,7:On the palate, there is also fruity, there is grapefruit, and dry with some honey, agricole is mainstay, with Martinique volcanique notes and is flowery, perfumed. A hint of pepper makes some presence, as saltiness and wood. Nicely round and balanced, with minimal acidity. Nice chocolate smokiness is felt when the rum is well rested. As well we could find some undertones as resin, juniper and licorice. 7,6:The finish is medium, a bit thin and dry, pepper spicy with dried fruits... Upgraded to 7.7...from 7,4"
"What I like most about this release is the warmth on the palate and the smoky wood. Lightly dry and you're not in doubt that you're having an Agricole 😊"
"A pleasant permanent range rum, offering a delicately woody, slightly vanilla nose, followed by cinnamon, a smoky edge and dried fruits (grapes). Sugar cane and a touch of caramel follow. Simple and effective. On the palate, sugar cane returns with agricultural and herbaceous notes, followed by spicy wood, tobacco, walnuts and dried fruit to balance out the dry but relatively mild profile. The finish, of decent length, leaves the imprint of wood, smoky notes and spices, with a slightly perceptible vegetal influence. A most typical agricultural rum, with no apparent flaws but no extravagance either. A good introduction to rum from the French West Indies."
