Very lovely and balanced in the nose and on the palate with overall a lot of wood but not too much, very subtle fruity and honey like sweetness. Alcohol integrated very well with peppery heat but no burn. Coffee and dark bitter chocolate, I like!

Diese 93er PM ist nicht mein Favorit. Er wirkt etwas dünn, gleichzeitig ist der Alkohol nicht gut eingebunden. Geschmacklich eher mineralisch, bitter, trocken.

If I blind tasted this, and had to guess the distillery, I would have guessed Clarendon. This rum shares a lot of similarities with Plantation Jamaica Clarendon MMW Vintage 2007 (the one in their bird series). Fruity with a hint of tobacco and spices. Very easy to sip. Thefatrumpirate states "... more malty character. If someone nosed this and said they thought it was Scotch Whisky I wouldn't be surprised. [...] If I were more fond of Scotch whiskey than I am Bourbon, I suspect I would enjoy this even more than I have" and honestly I don't quite follow his comparison - this is an exceptionel quality rom and I have never tasted whisky which could be compared to this rum (although I have to admit, that my whisky experience is quite limited to ). He might be right, but don't let it scare you from trying this rum just because you dislike Scotch whisky. Now to the price.. 27 year old Uitvlugt for ~250 euro? That's near impossible to find these days, and this is damn good rum from a historical distillery. Can you find better rum for less? Probably, but this is still worth it's RRP.
