How does this rum taste?
- Complex flavor profile
- Balanced wood and spice notes
- Long-lasting finish
The Kingsbury 1974 Port Mourant Rum, distilled in Guyana, boasts a fascinating profile crafted through double wooden pot stills and aged for 44 years. Exhibiting aromas of roasted notes, spices, and subtler hints of marzipan, its tasting experience offers dried fruit, wood, and roasted elements with anise undertones. Despite its complexity, the rum presents a lighter texture, focusing on a blend of floral and herbed characters. Limited to just 150 bottles and with an ABV of 46%, this 1974 release showcases a rare convergence of aged rums, echoing the rich traditions of Port Mourant, yet revealing divergent characteristics compared to other blends from the era, according to users. Hintenraus etwas zuviel Tabak, Leder, Aschenbecher. Dennoch ein großer Rum"
"05.03.2022 The yearly event by whisky.dk and one I'll continue to go to. This time with some of my colleagues of which some where whisky drinkers. They got an introduction to Jamaica and they liked it. Notes. This one was hidden at one of our favourite vendors and as soon as I arrived it was pulled out and we got a really good discount on the sample. Lots of wood in the profile without it being too dominant. Light fruit and spices and an oily warm palate. Long and lasting finish with light licorice. Love the marzipan note."
"A rather atypical PM, with lots of marzipan, wood and honey. Had I blindly not necessarily typed Guyana, almost Rockley."
