Velier Bielle Rhum Rhum Libération 2017 2010

Eigentlich stehe ich nicht so sehr auf die Reifung in Weinfässern. Bei diesem ist das Weinfass präsent, aber nicht zu dominant. Rund und trotzdem komplex. Der niedrige Alkoholgehalt steht dem Rum sehr gut, wirkt nicht verdünnt.

Once again a beautiful rhum rhum. Normally this is not my absolute favorite profile, but once again I like this Velier Bielle very much. A smooth, complex drop that knows how to please.

The nose is relatively sweet with vanilla, cinnamon and cookies, some caramel, wood, chocolate, wine and dried fruit. The palate simply lacks power due to the dilution. Overall, a fairly round and accessible easy sipping Agricole.

Compared to the 58%, of course, something is missing. But this is still an outstanding rum.

This one made me think about a Caroni :-) The burnt rubber is there and overall a good rum. Not as fruity as the others but nice and spicy. Once rested its really nice.

Flo‘s Geburtstagstasting Rhum Liberation 2024-05-17: Wir fangen mit dem einzigen nicht-Integrale an und sind dann gleich bei dem Schwachpunkt der Abfüllung an: ein leckerer Agricole, dem aber Power und Komplexität fehlt.

Nose: quite fine, citrus fruits, wood and spice. Light lemon zest with tangerine and some cherry, candied orange peel, as in fruit bread. Behind that, clearly a fine chocolate note. The spice might be cardamom, but only very little. And somehow there is some wine hidden at the back. Nice, fine nose, but could be more intense. Palate: quite light in my opinion due to too little ABV. The first thing I have is candied orange peel with a slight acidity, followed by fruit bread and a greener finish. Now comes the sugar cane. Almost a little flowery. The finish is slightly orangeat with sugar cane and some green branches. Unfortunately far too diluted to score points with me. Otherwise a nice aroma profile.

A rather impressive rum for its age and alcohol content

Drinkable, but very wood-dominated. For me, the weakest Liberation so far.

The nose has aromas of beautiful, fruity fermentation. There's a well-concentrated grenadine, a hint of galette des rois and old wood! The rum has opened up completely, giving a harmonious nose. The palate is soft and greedy. The woodiness is balanced with a touch of acidity. The whole is deliciously mellow. The finish is not long enough to revel in the vanilla and licorice stick of one's childhood.

Very vegetal, you can also feel the impact of the Sauternes cask. Pleasant, but lacking a few degrees in my opinion.

Toller Rum, der sogar bei Trinkstärke sein Potential entfaltet. Wohl mit das Beste, dass ich bei diesem ABV getrunken habe bisher. Aber der Abgang ist leider etwas kurz, Schönes Teil für einen unkomplizierten Start in den Abend.

Rum equilibrato, con alcool ben integrato. Bevuta raffinata. Nonostante non sia a grado pieno mi è piaciuto moltissimo. Al naso percepisco un sentore di liquirizia che mi piace veramente tanto. Ottimo anche il finale, vanigliato ma non troppo

I could smell this one forever. The nose is amazing, chocolate pralines are jumping outside the glass and there is a consistency over time despite the low abv. Some wood and some caramel, that we can find also drinking, along with chocolate. Delving into the dram we can find also some tropical fruits.
