How does this rum taste?
- Creamy texture and fresh finish
- Unique fruity character
- Limited edition rarity
This limited edition Mauritius rum, crafted at the Secrete distillery and bottled by Compagnie des Indes, showcases an intriguing blend of flavors. Distilled in 2010 from molasses and aged for 9 years, it embodies notes of green apple, sugarcane, and spices. While some tasters appreciate its creamy, fresh finish with hints of fruit schnapps, others note a somewhat flat or conventional profile. The rum's hint of black pepper balances its fresh and fruity character. At 42% ABV and with only 455 bottles produced, it remains a unique expression among Compagnie des Indes offerings. These features make it distinct yet approachable, appealing to those seeking a deviation from traditional rum profiles.

To Secrete
"Too bad. If you already know and appreciate the 11- and 13-year-old, then this only slightly younger Mauritius is a disappointment. Flat, bland, ordinary. Maximum a certain citrus note on the nose after a few minutes lifts this rum still a little bit out of the gray mass."
"I know quite little to do with this one. On the nose, almost white wine and sugar cane. All in all, not a really successful bottling."
