By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Nice, heavy demerara. Alcohol is cleanly integrated and the notes of wood, leather and spices are nicely balanced by light fruit notes. In direct comparison with other releases a bit too shy in expression, a little more spiciness would have suited the rum well - so the heavy sweet notes remain without significant counterpart. Given the quality of this heavy sweetness, this is undoubtedly grumbling at a high level; for an even better rating, however, lacks precisely at this point still some aromatic variety.
Yet another good one from this bottler, unfortunately I couldnt get a bottle so I'm on the hunt for one at the moment. The nose is wonderfully fruity with spices all very well balanced actually. I also find brown sugar and nice gentle wood. The palate is oily and silky in a way. The rum draws nice curtains in the glass. Again fruity like the nose with caramel and a hint of leather. In consecutive sips I get rubber, tar and wonderful oak. The finish is very long with earthy oak and clove with a hint of licorice.
As very nice I feel the flavors like prunes and already overripe sour cherries. Great rum, really reminds me strongly of grandma's rum pot with plums,. Cherries, peach and raisins.
A great rum because it is very elegant, soft and yet complex. Very tasty and dangerously easy to drink. Easy sipper on the highest level. The somewhat low alcohol hardly bothers me here. Drank the rum extra isolated, without high cask strength rums. Catches me not quite like a KFM or REV but definitely very Legga😇
