- a very belle découverte
Santos Dumont XO Gewürztraminer brings a sweet, coconut-heavy and vanilla-tinged experience, with members often discussing its milky, fudge-laced aroma and taste. Coconut stands out, alongside tropical fruit and a sticky sweetness; "Great nose and sweet taste" says Old Sport, while heckto🥃 adds, "intensivem Kokosgeschmack, viel Süße." Many liken it to liqueur or sweet spiced rum, evoking caramel candies and rich, buttery notes. Some find the coconut and sweetness over-the-top, while others appreciate its round, approachable style. It's not for those looking for dry or punchy spirits, but if you lean into dessert-like rums, you'll find plenty to chat about.

"7:On the nose, the first impression we have is sweet&spicy, roasted and thick, syrupy with strong citruses as orange, orange peel and warm spices as ginger, vanilla, a pinch of cinammon and candies. As we air it, there are tropical fruits with ripe banana, mango, some coconut, milk chocolate, caramelized nuts and a very soft touch of honey, gingerbread cookie, as we notice molasses, in connection to herbal hints, underneath the rum is slightly medicinal. 6:On the palate, the attack is warm, sweet and buttery, a bit acidic with oranges and apricots, mango, combined with coconut, vanilla and spicy notes, a hint of wood, a bit dry. Some floral notes and roastedness show after a rest, as a bit tanninic. 5,6:The finish is short, sweet, dry with warm-spicy notes, vanilla, tropical fruits, some wood...."
"Ein Rum mit intensivem Kokosgeschmack, viel Süße und ein wenig Schärfe. Für alle die Kokos mögen sicher ein Highlight. Für mich ist er zu süß und die Kokosnote zu dominant. Eher ein Likör als ein Rum."
"Fairly sweet but right on the edge. Prominent coconut flavor which is something I am a huge fan of. In this combination I do not mind sweetness at all and I can forgive a lot. Taste is very reminiscent of A.H. Riise but not as thick on the palate and rather spicier. Considering this an aperitif, and that is ok, that is where this one should stay."
"Here you can taste the blatantly sweet and spicy Riise flavors again, altogether worth a tasting."
