How does this rum taste?
The "Cuvée 250th Anniversary" rum from the Saint James Distillery in Martinique celebrates a rich heritage with a complex blend crafted from sugar cane juice, distilled using a column still to an ABV of 43%. Users commend its harmonious aroma featuring vanilla, woody notes, tropical, and dried fruits such as dates. On tasting, vanilla and woody flavors dominate, complemented by raisin and orange peel. While some find it a superb blend, others note a softer profile without bold character, possibly reflecting its blend of rums aged a century apart. Ideal for collectors, it is well-regarded for its balanced yet light complexity, although the value proposition may not impress all.

This is an expensive drop and the price is probably high because of the rareness of the release and what it celebrates. Overall the rum is well balanced, lightly sweet and kind of light. Fruity with spices and caramel on top. Would be a nice collectors item in my mind.
Phantastischer Blend! Schön rund, komplex, leider etwas dünn.
