How does this rum taste?
Most love the intense, dark-fruity, chocolatey profile with great alcohol integration. Some find “something missing,” but consensus calls it a complex, characterful Belize and a clear upgrade over younger siblings.
If you enjoy intense but not funky cask-strength rums like other Compagnie des Indes Belizes, this is a clear step up in age, complexity and roasted, chocolatey depth.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or drinkers expecting an easy, sweet sipper in the Botucal style rather than a drier, more roasted and slightly bitter profile.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Since I started working for Compagnie des Indes, this is by far the biggest slap in the face I've ever taken!
Im Vergleich zu seinem 11 jährigen Bruder ein wahnsinns Unterschied, richtig geiler Belize. Alkohol top eingebunden. Richtig pfeffrig am Gaumen und im Abgang, aber echt im positiven Bereich. Richtig lecker, Kaufempfehlung!
A see exciting, clearly complex and more intense Belize or as a friend says "tastier" than other representatives from Belize! geil!beautiful Eigensüße, abgefahrene Florale note like elder (?!) and in addition all these overcooked fruits and spices like fruit bread with a subtle freshness and toastiness, very very cool...🤤😍🇧🇿what's really freaky is the slight bitter and fresh acidity in the finish, bit like cassis and dark chocolate.... really good!
