How does this rum taste?
The New Grove Royal Rum Blend, crafted for the 60th Anniversary of La Maison du Whisky, originates from the Grays distillery in Mauritius. This limited release of 385 bottles blends richly aged 10-year-old rum distilled from molasses in 2007. Known for its complex aroma of dried apricot, mandarin, and red pepper, the rum is often described as sweet, fruity, and peppery on the palate with hints of vanilla and a touch of bitterness. Users note its harmonious woodiness and integrated alcohol, culminating in a fruit-laden finish. A very fine Mauritian rum that is a great fruit compote with perfectly integrated alcohol and a pleasant woodiness.
Geruch: Fruchtig süß ... riecht nach tropischen Früchte (Papaya, Mango) und Trockenfrüchten (Aprikose), zudem Mirabelle. Weiterhin Aromen von Karamell, Vanille und Zuckerrohr. Geschmack: Fruchtig süß mit Vanille im Mund, wird mit der Zeit leicht würzig. Beim Schlucken würzig mit Sandelholz-Aromen und Schuhcreme. Fruchtige Komponenten von Aprikose und Papaya. Abgang: Lang, trocken und würzig mit Aromen von Leder und Trockenfrüchten (Aprikose). Fazit: Ein toller Rum - sehr fruchtig und lecker. Still quite restrained on the nose. Like a hill on the palate: a strong, bitter start, a fruity, spicy zenith and a lemony, marzipan finish. Surprisingly complex. Very pleasing.
Rhum extrêmement agréable et facile à boire. Au nez comme en bouche, dominante de fruits avec notamment la pêche jaune et les abricots, contrebalancé par des épices légèrement piquantes. Petite amertume en fin de bouche, avec une légère trame boisée. Finale moyenne, très fruitée, un peu poivrée, qui se termine sur un abricot un peu vanillé et rappelle le premier nez. Très bon rapport qualité prix.
