“Privateer seems often to attend the typical US consumer, having a Rum that is appealing to those who during Bourbon and the likes. This one is solid, nothing extraordinary, with a Bourbon and citrus note. Alcohol is noticeable, but it does go well with some water. The fi ish, unfortunately, is quite short.”

“Alcohol could be much better integrated. Slightly caramel sweetness covers a lot, but I've had that with every Privateer bottling so far. In addition, however, comes a really intense pineapple note. Not really a bad rum, but remains just one-dimensional.”

“A great rum that is served well by the higher proof that helps balance the sweeter caramel and spice notes. Wish the finish was a bit longer, but was nonetheless great neat and in an old fashioned.”
